In a chilling triple tragedy, a 37-year-old SBI senior assistant shot his wife—an ICICI Bank relationship manager—outside her bank in Gomti Nagar on Thursday, returned home to kill his sister, and then turned the gun on himself. Shockingly, eyewitnesses said the accused appeared completely normal after the first murder, casually chatting with shopkeepers before walking into his house and locking the door from inside. Police received the first emergency call at around 12:15 pm reporting that a woman had been shot near Gujaria Chauraha. Within half an hour, at 12:45 pm, a second call was received about a man shooting himself at a residence. The two crime scenes are approximately 2.5 kilometres apart, DCP East Diksha Sharma told to media. The victim has been identified as Divya Mishra, a relationship manager at ICICI Bank's Gomti Nagar branch. According to eyewitnesses, she was standing outside the bank talking to her husband, Manas Bajpai, when he suddenly pulled out a gun and fired two shots at her. She was rushed to a hospital, where she was declared dead. After the shooting, Bajpai fled to his residence in Husadiya, about 2.5 km away. Eyewitnesses told to media that he appeared calm and normal upon returning to his neighbourhood, stopping to speak with local shopkeepers and asking about their wellbeing. He then went inside his house, locked the door from the inside, and shot his sister, Vibha Bajpai, before turning the gun on himself. When people later broke open the door, they found both bodies inside, with devotional songs playing on the television. Bajpai worked as a Senior Assistant at the State Bank of India (SBI). Divya's cousin, Mayank Dixit, stated that the couple had been married for about 8–10 years but had been living separately for the past 5–6 years. Divya had initiated divorce proceedings last year, and a case was pending before a family court. Police are examining this marital discord as the primary motive. In a purported WhatsApp status, Bajpai allegedly admitted to shooting Divya and accused her of cheating on him. Police are yet to publicly confirm the authenticity of the status. A forensic team is examining CCTV footage from both locations, and the investigation is ongoing under the jurisdiction of Gomti Nagar police station.

An alleged WhatsApp status posted by Manas Bajpai, the SBI employee accused of shooting his estranged wife Divya Mishra outside her ICICI Bank workplace in Lucknow on Thursday, has surfaced online, offering a disturbing glimpse into what may have preceded the subsequent killings. In the alleged status, Bajpai accused his wife of cheating on him and claimed that he had decided to take his own life. He also mentioned his sister and Divya’s sister, journalist and YouTuber Pragya Mishra, in the message. The alleged status read: “Today I killed my wife as she cheated on me......now I have to kill myself and my sister... her sister Pragya and Bharat knows everything.” The authenticity of the WhatsApp status and the exact circumstances in which it was posted have not yet been independently verified. The message emerged after Bajpai allegedly shot Divya Mishra, 36, outside the ICICI Bank branch in Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar area. Divya, who worked as a relationship manager/assistant manager at the bank, reportedly came outside after Bajpai called her. Police and forensic teams have reached both locations and are examining CCTV footage, call records, digital evidence and the alleged WhatsApp status as part of the investigation. A 21-year-old woman was allegedly murdered in broad daylight at the BC Road bus stand in Bantwal taluk of Dakshina Kannada district on Thursday evening, sending shockwaves across Karnataka. The victim, identified as Lavanya, a resident of Kakkepadavu, worked at a private nursing home in Kalladka. Police said the accused, identified as Chethan, allegedly attacked her with a machete after she repeatedly rejected his advances. He was arrested within hours near Vamanjoor-Pacchanadi on the outskirts of Mangaluru following a coordinated police operation. The incident has sparked widespread outrage and renewed concerns over crimes linked to harassment and one-sided obsession. Police have registered a murder case and launched a detailed investigation into the circumstances leading to the attack. According to the police, Lavanya was returning home from work on Thursday, 16 July, at around 6 pm. She had boarded a KSRTC bus from Bantwal to Kakkepadavu after finishing her shift at the private nursing home in Kalladka. Police said Chethan, who is believed to be a distant relative of the victim, boarded the same bus and sat next to her. The accused had allegedly been pursuing Lavanya despite her repeatedly rejecting his advances. Sensing something was wrong, Lavanya reportedly called one of her relatives and informed them that a young man had sat beside her on the bus. The call was disconnected shortly afterwards. After Lavanya got off the bus at the BC Road bus stand, the accused allegedly followed her. Police said he then took out a machete from a bag and chased her. Despite her attempt to escape, he allegedly attacked her repeatedly before fleeing the scene. Police personnel from the Bantwal subdivision and Bantwal Town Police Station rushed to the spot soon after receiving information about the incident and began an investigation. Lavanya, who sustained critical injuries, was immediately shifted to Bantwal Taluk Hospital. However, she succumbed to her injuries despite efforts to save her. After the attack, the accused allegedly fled towards Mangaluru in an Alto car. During his escape, he reportedly called Lavanya's father and told him that he had killed his daughter and intended to end his own life. Acting swiftly, the Bantwal subdivision police formed a special investigation team. Using mobile phone location data and CCTV footage, officers traced and arrested the accused along with the vehicle near Vamanjoor-Pacchanadi on the outskirts of Mangaluru. Police sources said the accused had allegedly created a disturbance at the private hospital where Lavanya worked about a month earlier. Hospital staff reportedly intervened and prevented the situation from escalating. Investigators are now examining whether the absence of a formal police complaint after the earlier incident contributed to the tragedy. Bantwal Town Police have registered a case and are continuing their investigation.

One more #HusbandSuicide from Greater Noida. 38 year old Software engineer Shatrughan Sinha, a native of Patna jumped from the balcony of his 16th floor flat in Paramount Emotions Society of Greater Noida and ended his life because of continuous fights with his wife Gulshan Rathore and Sister in Law who too was staying in the same flat. No suicide note was found but his wife claimed that he was Jobless since last few months and she was the one who was running the house. On that day he was drunk and tried to assault her and when her sister tried to save her then the husband attacked her sister with a knife. Wife claimed that she called the Police and after that the husband got scared and jumped from the balcony. Does not this sound like a Manohar Kahani? When there is no suicide note then why not this be treated as a case of Husband Murder instead of Suicide. It may be possible that his wife along with her sister threw him from the Balcony. When a husband can take care of his wife and family for whole life then why can not a working wife can support a husband even for few months in the case of his job loss? If a wife will commit suicide in similar circumstances then the husband as well as his entire family will be arrested immediately but here the wife is projected as a victim by the media. POLICE COMMISSIONERATE GAUTAM BUDDH NAGAR needs to investigate this case with all possible angles.

A family dispute turned deadly in Karnataka's Ballari district after a woman and her father were allegedly hacked to death during what was supposed to be a reconciliation meeting at the accused's house. Police have taken the woman's husband and his father into custody and launched a detailed investigation into the double murder. The victims have been identified as 24-year-old Nagalakshmi and her 48-year-old father Srinivasa. According to the police, Nagalakshmi's husband Teja had invited her and her father to his residence in Guggarahatti village on the pretext of resolving long-standing marital differences. Investigators said that during the meeting, an argument reportedly broke out, following which Teja and his father, Gurushankar, allegedly attacked the two visitors with sharp-edged weapons. Both victims sustained severe injuries and died on the spot before they could receive medical assistance. Preliminary inquiries suggest that Teja frequently suspected his wife's character, leading to repeated disputes between the couple. Police believe the suspicion may have been the primary motive behind the killings, though all possible angles are being examined as part of the investigation. Unlike many similar cases, the accused did not flee after the crime. Police said the father and son allegedly remained at the house with the bodies until officers arrived after receiving information from local residents. A police team rushed to the scene, conducted a spot inspection and shifted the bodies for post-mortem examination. Both accused have been detained for questioning, and a murder case has been registered under relevant provisions of the law. Senior police officers said forensic evidence has been collected from the crime scene and statements of family members and neighbours are being recorded to establish the sequence of events. Authorities are also verifying whether previous complaints of domestic disputes had been reported before the fatal incident. The gruesome killings have shocked residents of the area, with locals demanding strict action against the accused. Police said further investigation is underway and additional details are expected to emerge after questioning the suspects and examining forensic reports
