My son used to choke from reflux too and the pediatrician did nothing when I would tell them. I did a lot of research and switched his formula to soy based and it got rid of his reflux.

Having even a basic understanding of how to clear when your child is choking is so important. This was infuriating to watch

I probably would have tried to suck the mucus out with my mouth. Regular back thrusts might not clear mucus out. Everyone is so judgmental. She called for help.

This happend to my niece and my brother sucked up all the throw up out her throat with his mouth without second thought and the baby was fine in seconds this lady did not know what to dooo

I feel bad for the lady, but the way she was patting their back was SO frustrating. Like she's trying to pat to soothe. To actually dislodge something, the pats have to be VERY FIRM and intentional. Not these sorry ass butterfly pats.

This has happened to my newborn 4 times in the past month. Pediatrician explained to me that the baby cannot/will not die from spit up. Their bodies are built to handle it. But they do stop breathing for a bit. Get a nasal aspirator to speed up the process.

Damn this hits home. My first born had silent reflux and turned blue the first 30 min we were home. Were in the NICU for a week after that 😔

Stop letting babies lay down flat most especially after feeding them
