Josh Brolin says staying sober only worked once he made sobriety more exciting than the life alcohol gave him. “My job is to make sobriety more fun than my greatest romance with drinking.” “I loved to drink. It was like gasoline. It was fuel.” “I wasn’t someone who could just sip a drink watching TV.” “I’ve been banned from almost every bar on Main Street.” “After one drink, I never knew which version of myself was going to show up.” “Some people had the best night of their lives with me.” “Other people watched me completely change.” “That doesn’t happen anymore, and I’m grateful for it.” “When I got sober, I was willing to lose everything to make it my top priority.” “Only after that could I start building the life I actually wanted.”

MrBeast says tipping a pizza delivery driver $10,000 led to the best reaction he’s ever seen “I tipped a pizza delivery guy $10,000, he didn’t really react too much, but the next day he came back and I was like oh God, was he gonna ask for more money” “I open the door and he just started crying, he was like I didn’t even think this money was real, I just took tomorrow off work and I haven’t seen my kids in so long because I work every day, I just gotta spend a day with my daughter, this is the greatest day of my life” “I’m opening the door about to be like bro I don’t have more money, and then he hits me with that and I just 180’d so quick, better than when I give people a million dollars, nothing beats that one”

Qullamaggie on Less News, Less Opinions, More Price Action “The biggest lesson I’ve learned over the years is less news and more price action. Less news less opinions and more price action. That’s really the biggest lesson I’ve learned over the years. Pay attention to all the small details. Just get a feel for for the market. Get a feel for the stocks. This is why I really never take a day off. I haven’t taken a day off since 2013. It doesn’t mean you have to trade every day, but I really think it’s important to be there and just follow the action. Just get a feel for the market. I think it’s really important for the type of trading I’m doing. That is.”

I don't remember this episode, but I always loved watching jackass. This here is Butterbean, and he is deadly back in the day. He looked like a big lump, but the man had more power behind that right hand that you can imagine. I love that he didn't take it easy on Johnny 🤣🤣🤣💥

Tony Parker on what he focused on to make it in the NBA: "I never looked at it like I'm too small or I don't have the type of the NBA guy, very tall, long arms, all that kind of stuff. For me, I was like, if I'm gonna make it, the biggest difference that I can do is to be mentally more ready than other people. Because you have a lot of people that’s skilled and never go all the way.. I saw a lot of guys who are maybe more skilled than me, but I always told myself the biggest difference is like me, mentally, I'll be stronger than him. And when the light comes on in the arena, and you have to make that basket, you know the one that counts, I will make it." #GoSpursGo #PorVida

Marc Andreessen explains why he prioritizes satisfaction over happiness “I don’t believe in balance. I think people are wired differently so it’s hard to generalize this kind of thing. But I am much happier and more satisfied when I’m fully committed to something. So I’m very much in favor of imbalance.” Marc continues: “I don’t think happiness is the thing to strive for. I think satisfaction is the thing… Satisfaction is a deeper thing which is like having found a purpose and fulfilling it. Being useful. That I’m fully delivering on the gifts that I’ve been given, that I’m net making the world better, that I’m contributing to the people around me, and that I can look back and say: ‘Wow. That was hard, but it was worth it.’ I think that generally seems to lead people to a better state than pursuit of pleasure and happiness.” And on the relationship of money and satisfaction: “I think Elon would be a great example of this. He’s a guy who from the day he started making money at all just plows it into the next thing. I think money is definitely an enabler for satisfaction. Let’s put it this way: money applied to happiness leads people down very dark paths. Very destructive avenues. Money applied to satisfaction, I think is a real tool.” Source: Lex Fridman (Jun 2023)

Donovan Mitchell on the night he scored 71 on Chicago: “We played them on New Year’s Eve. Then we had New Year’s in Cleveland. Then we played the next day. Now I will say this. I’ve never drank before a game in my life. It was New Year’s. So I did have a drink, a few drinks the night before the game. Never done that in my career. Haven’t done it since. So I tell people like that was probably what, you know, allowed me to have the night I had.” (Via Cousins with Vince Carter & Tracy McGrady)

I’ll end with this, If this is the last time I get to ever see Kanye live for the next 10 years.. possibly longer. This felt like a solid goodbye to a part of me that grew up with Kanye at every step of the way, every important stepping stone moment of my life, I always had Kanyes music to help me through it. Some heartbreaking, dark and beautiful times. I never cried at a concert before in my life but I did last night because I was able to recognize that in the moment. It’ll never feel the same the older I get and I’ll never be this young again. ye

Undertaker says Vince McMahon didn’t want to do Sting vs. Undertaker match: “I was like, ‘Man, this is a home run. This is an easy main event for a pay-per-view.’ I don’t really have an answer. I never really had an in-depth conversation with Vince about why he didn’t want to do it. My goodness, Sting vs. Undertaker. “Again, he obviously knows more about business than I do, but that one just seems like a home run. They decided to walk the guy instead of pitch to him. I don’t know. I don’t know what happened there. I don’t have any regrets. It wasn’t my decision, but my goodness, I would’ve loved to have been able to have that match. I remember running into Sting. I think it was after the WrestleMania that we didn’t work. I remember us being on the same plane together, talking. Like, ‘I don’t know. This is beyond me. I don’t know why.’ It is what it is, man, I guess. I think Sting, that’s probably got to be the biggest miss of a WrestleMania. Those two characters, that would have done some incredible business.” (Six Feet Under)

In a world of overnight viral wanna-bee’s, ppl do anything to be seen. I had my time in the light this is an ex. of a journalist I never heard of clout chasing. There’s 2 more segments on the show where I blame no one. he’ll never post that bc it doesn’t help his narrative.

🚨 Bombshell announcement! 🚨 I’ve had to keep this to myself for the last couple of weeks, and it has been incredibly difficult. But we can finally announce it publicly… The Austin Metcalf Foundation is officially live! I am so proud of Jeff. In the face of an unimaginable tragedy, he has found a way to turn grief into purpose. Austin’s legacy will continue to live on through this foundation, and I couldn’t be more honored to be a part of that journey. I also promise this: I will keep Austin’s name alive for as long as I breathe. We will continue telling Austin’s story so that he is never forgotten. 📖 A book is also in the works! We’re still working through the logistics and determining the best way to tell this story, but it is happening. I’m also incredibly excited for Bruce. It was only fitting that he be asked to serve on the board, and I know he’ll help make a real difference. I can’t wait to share more about the Austin Metcalf Foundation, its mission, and what we hope it will mean for America’s youth. This is just the beginning. A11 IN!

We often hear about the negatives of drinking alcohol, but longevity physician Dr. Peter Attia says he still drinks in moderation, when social benefits outweigh the negatives. “Try to never have more than two drinks in a day. And try to never drink more than three hours before bedtime because it will negatively impact your sleep,” says Attia. “If you can limit yourself to no more than six or seven drinks a week,” he adds, “I can't tell you that it will have no negative effect on your health, but I think the effect is so small that it probably comes out in the wash.”

People want to believe in BS 🤷🏼‍♂️ I get asked often what diet secrets I have. I just have to laugh. As if I’m keeping secret knowledge that I only use on myself lol. The reality is I do the same stuff. I talk about every day. I don’t have magic or secrets. The reason I’ve had success is because I apply the principles that work with nutrition and training every single day and have done so for over two decades. But one of the easiest ways to fake being a fitness expert is to act like you have some kind of secret knowledge. This is much more powerful for people, because people would rather believe there is some secret that was kept from them, which stopped them from getting their goal, which is far more palatable than the truth. The truth, being the vast majority of people simply are not consistent with nutrition and training for long periods of time. unfortunately, any idiot with a six pack can convince people that they are an expert From the Dr. Mike Varshavski podcast
