The settler was taken to Soroka Hospital in moderate condition. Israeli Army Radio said he suffered a head injury after being struck by a stone and did not appear to have been wounded by gunfire. Israeli forces launched an extensive search across the area, raiding the surroundings of Susya and deploying aircraft. Channel 14 later reported that the stolen weapon had been recovered, but that forces had not located the Palestinian man. The incident comes one day after Farouk Ramadan, a Palestinian from the village of Tell near Nablus, disarmed an Israeli settler during a settler assault and killed a man who was threatening him. Israeli forces later murdered Ramadan and three of his relatives, detained dozens of villagers, raided his family home and began preparations to demolish it.
