What a great story. Especially the part’ the husband to be gets a preview of what it’s going to be like with her’ lolol

I have used contracts before for cakes, flowers, and other items. The last line states All payment for services must be paid in full 48 hours BEFORE DELIVERY. I’ve never had an onsite issue regarding payment or service. I’m not fighting with anyone the day of about anything

@gracieback2 Why did the groom go through with the wedding? Major red flag?

If you refuse to serve 13% of your possible clientele, you might just be skipping 50% of your theft/loss/default problems.... Just sayin.

The groom should immediately reconsider his marriage decision!

I can testify to this as a wedding musician. From the moment they booked me they were forever demanding new playlists until seven days before when they gave me yet another play list with eight pieces I had never played before nor had the music making it impossible for me to get backing tracks and practice those new pieces. I explained this to them and they settled for me trying to have them without a guarantee I would have them on the day. The venue was out in the sticks and a four hour drive I had a room booked because I would finish too late to drive home. Checked everything two days before and arrived on the day when the groom told me they had a new musician and I wasn’t needed. I did not have a contract, I took no deposit and had no recourse to claim expenses. That was the last time I took a booking until a contract was signed and a 30% deposit, lesson learned.

I am guessing that the bride is a Smoke Detector American. I worked for a couple of catering and event companies in Detroit that constantly dealt with situations exactly like this.

A simple provision in the agreement would preclude that from ever happening: "NOTE: The wedding cake WILL NOT BE DELIVERED until FULL payment is received."

I can’t believe bridesmaids throwing flowers at the bakers car didn’t work. Talk about frightening

You know she stiffed the DJ too!

Hope the groom was smart enough to walk away after he paid for the cake.

My wife owned a master wedding cake bakery. The kind of stuff you see on TV. She never did a wedding cake without payment first.

I had a company that manufactured Granite worktops for kitchens and a customer didn’t want to pay me on the day. I told the lads to take the worktops off and bring them back. The customer soon coughed up the money.

There are people who do this with anything and everything especially when the price reaches a certain level

I sincerely hope he see’s her for what she really is. I’d made her wear it I’m just petty that way. I bet the cake looked beautiful. Too bad you don’t have a photo of it. I’d love to see what it looked like.

@MAC_ARMY1 Bro is like $1300 is a good price to be able to get away from this Karen, hope he left after he paid

An 8 minute video that could have been cut down to literally 2 minutes. But you know bitches just like talking

This applies to everything when it comes to business. Always trust you're gut feeling. If something feels off with a customer, 99% of the time it is. I've delt with thousands of people and I usually know the ones who always try to get over on people.

@SilasUnleashed Meanwhile, I love this lady. Pure class, and grit.

No picture of this $1200 cake, Weird af! Ain't going to lie I was thinking 500 bucks max. $1200 is outrageous for a "couple hours" of worth of work. U said "a couple hours worth of work" I figured def more 2 less than 5 Charging people $800 an hour to build a cake it's crazy

I hope his divorce isn’t too painful

I’m a home inspector…. If you don’t sign the contract and pay.. I don’t start the truck….. People will do stupid shit to try and get over on you for a few hundred bucks.

A house nearby had all new windows & outside doors. Home owner said didn't have money. Contractor took the doors off & started to remove windows. Police called. Statements taken. Police told owner windows & doors weren't his until he paid up. He paid. 😁

The bride sounds like the type of person who eats half a pizza then wants a refund because it didn’t taste right. Or the person who goes to a restaurant but then leaves no tip or worse, skips out. The person who doesn’t pay the laborer for their work….

You are nice, I will ruin that cake so quick you will think a tornado hit it.

The baker will learn his/or her lesson, but what a life is going to be for this man with this woman 😨 omg

I am happy that you got your money back, and I feel very sorry for the husband who is married to this horrible wife!

@MAGA_X_Times That's hilarious how the bride pulled out all the stops. Bullying, pity party, got security, bullying bridesmaids, then begging bridesmaids, mom has cancer, then groom pays with honeymoon money. 🤣🤣🤣

The audacity of these reprobates who think they can rip off small business owners is both breathtaking and disgusting.

When my last daughter married 15 years ago, I paid for the $950 cake when I ordered it.

Not only contracts but sign-offs as well! Either mock ups or visuals that represent the final product to a T, so you have a contract to build the cake, sign-off on the design and layout of the cake - they see exactly what they’re getting!

I was a wedding photographer for many years and this would happen to me occasionally so I would just keep the pictures and wait for the final check to clear or for them to send me electronically the money. And the great thing about that is if they didn’t pay, people would start asking them where the pictures were of the wedding and they’d have to explain that the photographer hadn’t given it to them yet.

Not only a signed contract but also in cases involving bigger money have it notarized, and filed with the powers that be. Personally, I feel stiffing people for their labors has turned into an art form by many people. How many people they can cheat is their goal in life.

@Rammie24 The groom should have then left the wedding.

3/ the fact that this story was put together without a pic of the cake should leave the reader wondering why. 🤷♀️
