UPDATE: Emergency services arrived on time at the scene. All 3 people trapped have been rescued to the hospital. All in stable condition. The collapsed building has been barricaded by authorities. . FDNY arrived to thick, heavy smoke pouring from the windows, where an elderly woman stood trapped, waiting for someone to rescue her. Firefighters rushed in, took a portable ladder, and pulled her out of the burning structure to safety as fire spread rapidly across multiple floors, filling the building with thick smoke. As New York’s Bravest battled the fire and searched for victims inside the burning structure, a steel wall suddenly collapsed on them, trapping two firefighters inside. FDNY rescue teams pushed through dangerous conditions and pulled them out alive. They were taken to the hospital in stable condition. Victims were pulled from the building as the fire continued to burn. Four people were pronounced dead at the scene, while two others were rushed to nearby hospitals in critical condition.
