This is the story of the C 130 known as Credible Sport, one of the most interesting aircraft ever built. In 1980, Operation Credible Sport secretly modified a Lockheed C 130 Hercules into a Super STOL aircraft designed to land and take off inside a sports stadium in Tehran for a hostage rescue. It used 30 rockets to stop on landing, slow descent, and provide massive thrust for takeoff, allowing extreme short takeoff and landing in confined spaces.
