#JASMY: "Wagamachi" Carbon Credit Initiative in Nagano – Featured in the Media A meeting of the Council for Decarbonization Collaboration, which connects businesses with the city of Nagano, was recently held in Nagano. New projects focused on carbon neutrality were also presented. One week ago, meeting brought together 56 companies and local entities involved in the Nagano Regional Decarbonization Promotion Council, which works on local carbon-neutral initiatives. During this second session, a new participatory project involving local citizens was introduced. The project aims to both stimulate the regional economy and reduce carbon emissions. It is based on the use of carbon cards specific to Nagano Prefecture and regional models that encourage local travel and consumption. Since June of this year, the city of Nagano has launched a pilot program with #Jasmy Carbon Credit Nagano "WAGAMACHI", where citizens can earn carbon credits by purchasing products from companies engaged in decarbonization efforts. These credits can be exchanged for benefits or privileges online, creating a virtuous cycle between consumers and environmentally responsible local businesses.

THC, the hydrocarbon, goes down by 14%, and if you look at it from overall carbon emission from a life cycle perspective, these actually are extremely low carbon emissions because whatever carbon you emit when you burn the fuel is the carbon dioxide that the plant has absorbed during photosynthesis. Hence, in the biogenic cycle, it actually is a very carbon-efficient kind of process. This technology is completely indigenous, designed in India in our R&D centre in Jaipur. Fully made in India, with very little imported content in the entire bike. This is something that we should be able to take to the world as an Indian product to solve the world's needs..."
