China sent a new satellite group into space from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center in north China's Shanxi Province on Tuesday. The satellite group was launched at 19:59 (Beijing Time) aboard a modified Long March-6 carrier rocket and successfully entered its preset orbit. The satellites will make up the Spacesail Constellation, a Chinese low-orbit satellite network intended for commercial use. This launch marked the 642nd flight mission of the Long March carrier rocket series, according to the launch center.

China expands its space presence from the sea: a new leap in building its satellite internet network China successfully launched a Gravity-1 rocket from the sea off the coast of Shanghai, carrying eight Qianfan constellation satellites and an experimental high-speed communications satellite, placing them into an orbit at an altitude of 800 kilometers. Notably, the payload exceeded 3 tons, setting a new Chinese record for payload mass and orbital altitude in a single sea launch. This was also the rocket’s fourth successful sea launch. In my view, the most important aspect is not the launch itself, but the speed at which these operations are being repeated and China’s ability to turn sea launches into a practical and recurring option for building its space infrastructure. With the continued deployment of Qianfan satellites, China appears to be steadily expanding its own satellite internet network.

🚨BREAKING! Japan's SpaceOne KAIROS Rocket Launch Ends In Failure🚨 Space One’s KAIROS No. 3 rocket suffered an anomaly during first stage flight following liftoff on March 5, 2026 at 11:10 a.m. local time from the Kii Spaceport in Japan. According to the company, the vehicle experienced a major issue during ascent which led teams to determine that mission success was no longer possible. Flight controllers then activated the Flight Termination System (FTS) to safely end the mission. Video from the launch shows an explosion during first stage flight, after which the rocket began spinning out of control before breaking apart. Space One released the following statement: “Kairos No. 3 was launched on March 5, 2026, at 11:10:00 a.m., but we determined that mission success was difficult and implemented flight termination measures. Details are currently under investigation.” This marks another setback for the KAIROS launch vehicle, as the company continues working toward establishing Japan’s first private orbital launch capability.

The Spectrum, the inaugural test rocket from the German private company Isar Aerospace, crashed and exploded roughly thirty seconds after liftoff at the Andøya Spaceport in Norway. This marked the first-ever launch of a carrier rocket from continental Europe. The objective of this program is to initiate satellite launches from Europe, positioning the region as a key player in the space industry. Isar Aerospace CEO Daniel Metzler commented on the launch, highlighting that the test flight exceeded their expectations and was considered a significant success. He noted that the rocket achieved a clean liftoff, maintained flight for 30 seconds, and successfully validated the company’s Flight Termination System.

🇨🇳 Just after the U.S admitted it has space weapons, China broke new records in sea-launched space missions by sending nine satellites into orbit The Gravity-1 rocket lifted off near Shanghai and delivered eight communication satellites for Qianfan. One more "test" satellite rode along, all the way up to 800 kilometers. State media is calling it the world's first sea launch of a broadband megaconstellation. But the timing is what makes this worth a second look… Less than two weeks before this launch, one of China's own satellites, tied to its secretive Yaogan military reconnaissance program, broke apart in orbit for reasons nobody has confirmed. And now, the U.S. Space Force has officially confirmed it has deployed weapons into orbit for the first time. China immediately hit back, telling Washington to "stop preparing for war in space". Makes you wonder what the "test" satellite was that hitched a ride Writers: Bri, Ian

China Achieves First Successful Net Recovery of Reusable Long March 10B Rocket China successfully launched the Long March 10B (CZ-10B) reusable launch vehicle today (10 July 2026) from the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site, marking a major milestone in the country’s commercial space ambitions. The mission achieved China’s first successful controlled recovery of a rocket first stage and the world’s first successful net-based recovery of an orbital-class launch vehicle. The launch took place around midday from Launch Pad No. 2 at the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site. Approximately six minutes after stage separation, the rocket’s first stage executed a controlled vertical return to the designated recovery zone at sea. Instead of landing on a conventional drone ship, the booster was successfully captured by the offshore recovery vessel “Navigator” (领航者) using a flexible net capture system, representing the first time such a recovery method has been successfully demonstrated for an orbital launch vehicle. The Long March 10B is a new-generation commercial reusable liquid oxygen-kerosene rocket featuring a 5-metre-diameter core stage and standing nearly 70 metres tall. It is powered by seven reusable YF-100N engines. Even when configured for first-stage recovery, the rocket is capable of delivering at least 16 tonnes to low Earth orbit (LEO). The successful mission represents a significant breakthrough for China’s commercial space sector and reusable launch technology. It fills a longstanding gap in China’s capability to operate a large-lift reusable commercial launch vehicle while demonstrating an innovative recovery approach that could reduce launch costs and improve operational efficiency for future missions. The achievement also positions China among the leading nations advancing reusable launch systems, with the successful net recovery introducing a novel alternative to traditional landing platforms used by other space-launch providers.
