Every community does good things. What matters is who does not interfere in lives of others. Jain community tried to interfere in our food choices by calling for boycott on nonveg food during their festival. Jain community disrespected legal orders to stop feeding pigeons in mumbai.

My family runs an ashram for the elderly in Gujarat. We regularly get calls saying that a group of Jain pilgrims are coming to the ashram. This is long after food has been served and our elderly have gone to sleep for the afternoon. The cooks have to be called back to prepare a meal for these pilgrims, after the staff have gone home for their afternoon nap before returning to prepare 7 pm meals for the elderly. Even though the pilgrims called late, they moan, “It’s getting dark. We need to eat quickly.” It’s a free elderly people’s ashram, but they still call in people to cook for them every single year. Nobody has a problem doing seva. Your community is not the only one doing charity. Every single community does. Many Hindus do the same for your people too! Cooking the meal is a task in itself because you can eat this and can’t eat that. It works both ways, young lady. People do a lot for you guys on pilgrimage too, so don’t put down others! What an arrogant post with so much superiority. Some of my best friends are Jain, but you are an arrogant young lady. There are free Hindu and Sikh hospitals running all across India, and other communities are doing exactly the same.

There were some Jains in my building who used to tell us not to eat non-veg, the rule was to rent the house only to Gujarati Marwaris. But now times have changed. No one tolerates your bullying anymore.
