A commenter recently asked me how they can open up their Trump-supporting father to other ways of thinking. The answer isn’t so simple; we cannot rationally argue people out of their irrational political persuasions. People become magical thinkers not because they’re nuts, but because of the pain that comes...

Ditto that for both parties and institutions

Not really sure what is your point. The so-called left is just as brainwashed as the right. Russian collusion, the world is burning up, men can get pregnant, the "insurrection"...

Tough but spot-on truth. And on that note:

Hopefully I can ask this in an articulate way: What about the other side/BlueMAGA? The folks still blaming Jill Stein for a Harris loss, and not her support of genocide and hard Right campaign shift? The folks that think Harris was too Left and that cost her the election?

How are they irrational? It IS rational to fire your govt and hire the opposition if you have grievances that have not been addressed (even if it's unlikely to change things). To NOT do so would be irrational, no?

The media won’t tell you, and woke liberals are clueless: Trump’s roaring comeback is driven by everyday Americans fed up with soaring bills, not obsessed about a dozen genders or the right to a transgender bathroom. #AbookThatChangesEverything #TrumpWon

Mr. Hedges, I hope that you, as a journalist, already know that not only are you on the #rightsideofhistory…. You and your ilk will be a bigger part of history than any president in our gen. I will bet my soul on it. Thank you for your patience and perseverance 🤙🏻

Evangelicals, silly as they are, did not use the white house and DOJ in conjunction with social media to shut down voices they didn't like: Democrats did that. Woke ideologies are your nexus of Fascism not has-beens from the 80's

But honestly, how do these regime-paid errand boys feel when they step onto the ground to campaign and only to meet the truth right in their faces? People willing to take their kasente without hesitation, but when it comes to choosing their President, they say it boldly and openly: “We want Kyagulanyi, not mzee.” No fear. No apology. Just the truth delivered straight to them. Imagine how humiliating that must be; spending energy, fuel, and endless lies, only to realize that the very people they are bribing are simply playing along to survive, not to support. Maybe that explains why they’ve resorted to ferrying school kids and hired crowds to manufacture the illusion of support. They know the ground has rejected them. They know the people have already moved on. The reality is simple: Ugandans have spoken. They admire Kyagulanyi because he reflects their struggles, their hopes, and their future. He hasn’t bought their loyalty....they’ve given it freely. And that is something money, intimidation, or propaganda cannot defeat. In every corner of the country, the genuine energy flows toward Kyagulanyi. Not because he is perfect, but because he is real. Because he represents a Uganda that is tired of being bullied, robbed, and talked down to. A Uganda that wants dignity again. So yes...the change is near. And you can see it most clearly in the frustration of the regime’s hired errand boys, who are discovering that no amount of cash can force people to love a leader they’ve outgrown. Kyagulanyi stands far above the rest..not because the regime is weak, but because the people are awake. The future isn’t waiting. It’s already choosing.
