A Black man complains that he is the only Black engineer at Meta. I know childhood and college friends, as well as family, who work at Google, NVIDIA, Tesla, TSMC, Meta, Apple, etc. Every few years, when the stars align, we all manage to have a BBQ together during the holidays. They all say they can count on one hand the number of Black engineers they've ever known throughout their careers. In the last five years, 50% of the Black individuals who entered their field have had to communicate through email because they want every conversation documented, as those individuals were known to make racist allegations against people. Those individuals have been systematically fired over the last year.
