Of course he has to plug his union. That’s all he cares about. Union this. Union that. He constantly complains about “profits.”

I mean no offense to local 638, they’re a tough union but their members work hard and do good work, but a steamfitter knows fuck all about structural engineering, load calcs, or what caused the failure. “Not enough steel” is in all probability the least likely cause

@NjTank99 They don’t make men like Cliff Johnson anymore. I worked with him for a year or two.

Build it union build it better glad my union brothers made it out of there safe

With all due respect a steamfitter shouldn’t be talking about structural issues like he’s some expert when he’s not.

The part he leaves out is without those 'profits' the project wouldn't have happened at all. I've never met a group of people so economically illiterate as union craft workers.

Typical union mope knows nothing spouting off against the "man" he sprays fire retardant He doesnt know what hes talking about. Probable - union iron workers in the 1960s cheaped out on steel, modern engineers based design off original blueprints / specs, or union sabotage

They're turning this city into Third World.. Who are the owners of this building? Who signed off on the plans? Thank goodness this corrupted company didn't cause the deaths of these workers!

@NYCMayor's inspectors FAILED because there are NO MORE INSPECTORS. All the city money went to social programs and new NY City Commie food stores for Illegal Aliens!!

Where’s the EOR that designed the T.I. Project?? If the contractors are building to spec I don’t see how this is a union vs nonunion debate. Typical union clown here just pushing a narrative

Who ever put that building up is fired

Immediately pointing a finger at another union is not what's needed. A steamfitter commenting on iron work and structural issues doesn't quite sound right.

I dunno if I’d be running my mouth like this before the lawsuit kicks off.

Sounds more like an engineering or inspection failure than worker failure.

Union contractor lost the bid because union rates are sky high. That doesn’t necessarily mean that the non union contractor isn’t safe or doesn’t know what they are doing..

Wow, crazy for him to place blame in a media interview so soon.

Lies should have been prepared and osha should have inspected

Might have to dismantle a bunch of the building. What engineer is going to go in there and risk his/her life to figure out how this building can be safely rescued? I would say "It can't. Start removing floors and THEN we will evaluate WHAT can be saved."

That is SO scary, I'm glad he and his crew were able to make it out safely. I've worked in high rise construction and yes, all you want is a safe working environment. Instead you get a bean counter counting costs trying to kill people. This is Trump's America, profits over people

They will have to demolish the whole building unfortunately. No way to fix it now.

Union scum
Guy who covers stuff in buildings with fire protection foam pumps union and becomes a structural engineer at the same time, knows exactly the collapse cause - that Union steelworkers were not used.

@NjTank99 Business vs Blue Color… the game is and will always be rigged…he can talk like this until he’s blue in the face. Profits always win.

nyc building un affordable housing stay safe 638

@JohnDMacari, you need to interview him.

FN whole city if falling apart because of cheap labor, what a disgrace!

"Bending like cigarettes"

I used to work below...that's scary!

Dumb fuck americans fuck up something that wasn't broken out of pure greed and subhuman desire. What a surprise

@catturd2

This guy is blowing off steam. They didn't hire this person how does he know what is happening?

@JohnDMacari NYC is crumbling. Literary.
