This is something, but something more substantial is that Hakham Ovadia Yosef AH says converts and baale teshuva who do not have existing Jewish family traditions should by default adapt to Sefardi tradition, because Bet Yosef and Amude Horaa are universally authoritative.

As an Ashkenazi I can say with certainty that Sephardiim are much more fun.
