In the early hours of today, the youth of Asuokyire in the Aowin District of the Western North Region expressed their anger over the destruction of their land and the contamination of the Tano River caused by galamsey operations led by some Chinese nationals. They stormed the Tano Numire forest, where galamsey activities were in full swing, swiftly halting the illegal mining operations, arresting two Chinese nationals, seizing three excavators, and destroying their shelters on site.
