A crazy finish, as after an illegal move Mishra is given 1 second in which to try and queen a pawn (in a winning position) to win the match — he fails, and his team loses! #TechMGCL #BeyondTheMove

Leon played by the rules and won. Nothing wrong. Mishra should learn from this. He should already have the queen in his hand when he knew he was going to queen the pawn. Trying to grab the queen and then putting it in place of pawn/rook is just too much in less than 3 seconds.

One of my friends had this type of situation in a tournament. After a lot of checking he was allowed to continued with 1 second but he actually just took the piece and placed his piece and pressed the clock. Apparently you can remove the pawn after pressing the clock.

Mishra had 3 seconds while making the move and by the time he played the move and was about to press the clock, he had 1 second So, shouldn't he be given 3 seconds to make the move again? 🤔 @ChessbaseIndia @chesscom_in @srinathchess @DavidHowellGM
