I was a newer Airman in the early 2000’s, I had blonde hair at the time, I used a plain black hair tie for my ponytail. They called me into the Officer building, I had to officially report to my commanding officer over a black rubber band in my hair, that was my warning. Someone drove me over to the BX to buy clear hair ties because I didn’t have a car yet.

Not true... Our daughter has been active for 14+ years. The physical fitness part was men's and women's standards. It still was until @SecWar changed it. I've seen women in our daughter's units who wear their hair out of regs, and men with beards... this was just last week at her latest tech school graduation. I'm happy Sec Hegseth is addressing this.
