The elephant was constantly monitored as it emerged from the forest every night. In this situation, the elephant was anaesthetised at around 2 am on October 17 and was brought under control. The tourists were travelling in a jeep belonging to Jungle Lodges and Resorts for a safari. At that moment, near the Bhadra Ranganatha Swamy temple, a wild elephant chased the jeep. As they were about to be attacked by a wild elephant, the driver quickly reversed the jeep, displaying presence of mind. Due to the driver’s quick response, the tourists narrowly escaped the elephant’s attack. A video of the elephant chasing the jeep was captured on the tourists’ camera and has gone viral on social media.
