A driver and his mate, both called Emmanuel, have reportedly passed away under bizarre circumstances at a hotel in Nkawkaw. According to accounts attributed to the driver before his death, the pair had stopped in the town to spend the night during a long-distance journey. They were initially asked... by hotel staff to wait for about an hour before checking in, as their assigned room was reportedly being cleaned and fumigated. After returning and taking possession of the room, both men allegedly began experiencing severe breathing difficulties shortly after settling in. The assistant reportedly died first, while the driver managed to raise an alarm before he also succumbed. Authorities are currently undertaking investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident with two staff members in police custody.show more

A 28-year-old man allegedly strangled his four-month pregnant wife to death before dying by suicide at their residence in Bengaluru’s CK Achukattu area on Wednesday, police said. The deceased have been identified as Manoj (28) and his wife Swapna (26), natives of Uttar Pradesh who had been living in Bengaluru for several years. According to police, Manoj worked as a carpenter, while Swapna was a homemaker. The couple had been married for three years and were living with Manoj’s parents. Preliminary investigations suggest the incident may have been triggered by a domestic dispute. Police suspect that Manoj and Swapna had an argument at their home before the deaths. The police said Manoj allegedly strangled Swapna using a nylon rope that was reportedly used as a leash for the family’s pet dog. After allegedly killing his wife, he is believed to have used the same rope to hang himself from a ceiling fan. Police said Swapna was four months pregnant at the time of her death. The incident reportedly took place around 10.30 am. Authorities were alerted after family members discovered the couple and informed the police.
