According to accounts attributed to the driver before his death, the pair had stopped in the town to spend the night during a long-distance journey. They were initially asked... by hotel staff to wait for about an hour before checking in, as their assigned room was reportedly being cleaned and fumigated. After returning and taking possession of the room, both men allegedly began experiencing severe breathing difficulties shortly after settling in.
