What appears to be a Russian Geran-2 or Gerbera drone struck a high-rise apartment building in Galati, Romania, around 13.5 km from the border with Ukraine. Prior to the attack, air raid alerts were issued in parts of the country due to the drone incursion into Romanian airspace. At least two people were injured and another 70 evacuated from the building, where a fire subsequently broke out. Romanian authorities say they are investigating the source of the drone, however at the same time of this attack, a large-scale Russian Geran-2 drone attack was underway on the Ukrainian port city of Reni, which lies directly opposite the border with Romania.

❗️Here's some more context on the Ukrainian strike on the Russian Nebo-U radar station in Russian-occupied Crimea yesterday. Even if this radar was only partly damaged, this has huge significance and is a disadvantage for Russian air defense. Due to its location in Crimea, the Nebo-U radar station can monitor the situation in the sky in a very wide range (including aerial targets) not just in parts of Ukraine (Odesa, Dnipro, Kropyvnytsky, Kyiv, Kharkiv) but outside Ukraine, as well (NATO's largest base in Romania; Chisinau; the coast of Turkiye, Istanbul, Ankara etc.). It is also a very rare radar, Russia's only got dozens of them. Damaging one of these radars is a loss for Russia - it increases reaction time for Russian air defense and creates "blind"/"blinder" spots. Russian leadership has turned Crimea into a spot for destroying rare and expensive equipment. #WATCH | Delhi: Wing Commander Vyomika Singh says, "...Pakistan did not close its civil airspace despite it launching a failed unprovoked drone and missile attack on 7 May at 08:30 hours in the evening. Pakistan is using civil airliner as a shield, knowing fully well that its attack on India would elicit a swift air defence response. This is not safe for the unsuspecting civil airliners including the international flights which were flying near IB between India and Pakistan. The screenshot we just showed, it shows the data of the application flight radar 24 during a high air defence alert situation in the Punjab sector. As you have seen, the airspace on the Indian side is absolutely devoid of civil air traffic due to our declared closure. However, there are civil airlines flying the air route between Karachi and Lahore...Indian Air force demonstrated considerable restraint in its response thus ensuring safety of international civil carriers."
