People don't fill a giant fridge and freezer every week. They buy what they need as they need it. To them it looks like gluttony...which is also reflected in the size of many Americans. Be honest, our processed food is shitty for us (even if it tastes good).

Dude, your laugh is intoxicating. 😆 And yes, our bread in most grocery stores is heavy on preservatives. We do have stand-alone bakeries that bake fresh, natural bread daily, but they are rarer. That tube of meat is for backyard BBQs or parties for hamburgers, typically.

Most Euro living quarters are small as are their refrigerators. Most Euros live a short distance from tiny groceries and bodegas. We can and do buy in larger sizes because we have more room to store food, live farther from grocers and do not rely on bikes or public transport to get the stuff home.

The main reason why milk for example is not coming in Europe in 2-4ltr packages is that because of lack of preservatives it cannot last long. Europe is more regulated when it comes to what can go into food. That is why people don’t stock.

I worked for a Migros grocery store in Switzerland and they had stores as big as our Walmarts. Shoot I went to a cheese store in France that was as big as a Walmart and all they sold was cheese!

I clearly recall when the Iraqi Army officers we brought over in 2008 to visit various Army Depots down south, walked into their first Walmart! Several spent 2-3 hours inside and bought a lot of items to take back home. They loved it!

Genuine question for the Euros - Do you guys not buy meals for the fam? Like that pizza will feed 3 people comfortably. That ice cream will last a family a week or a couple multiple weeks. How do you guys shop?

I'm confused. Do Europeans only buy groceries for one day at a time? Is the world ending tomorrow, or are you all living under constant anxiety?!!! WTF A larger container lasts longer, means fewer trips to the store, and is often more economical. If you're feeding a family, buying in larger quantities is practical and convenient. What's the joke?
