An important thing parents aren’t teaching their kids much. Self control. You can see from all the kids in the streets running wild and fighting, breaking the law. They have to be taught that their actions will have consequences.

I think it is better to teach your son not to hit ANYONE. Hitting ANYONE is not good. Telling him he must never hit a woman gives him the understanding that it's ok to hit someone as long as it isn't a woman. Incorrect Instruction. You don't hit. Period. Self Defense is different. To defend oneself you CAN hit ANYONE, man or woman.

I was taught this lesson young. At 18 I defended a woman being beat by her boyfriend. Both lied in court after I was arrested for assault and I spent 11mo 29 days in jail. The Max amount for a misdemeanor because I thought I was doing the right thing. The modern world doesn't reward heroes.
