Lagos State Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources carried out a Joint Sanitation exercise with officers of the Navy Ship BEECROFT Command, Apapa base to clean up Mobil Road, Marine Beach Apapa and environ. This exercise is a follow-up to the collaborative meeting recently held with Naval Command to ensure a sustained cleaner environment in Apapa axis of the State. The initiative would make a meaningful impact in the affected areas by improving the well-being of the residents and restore sanity to the area. The team from the Lagos State government was led by the Special Adviser on the Environment, Engr. Kunle Rotimi- Akodu accompanied by the Permanent Secretaries; Office of Environmental Services, Dr. Gaji Omobolaji; Office of Drainage Services Engr. Mahamood Adegbite; MD LAWMA, Dr. Muyiwa Gbadegeshin; KAI Corps Marshal, Major Olatubosun Cole (Rtd); LASWMO GM, Engr Adefemi Afolabi and other Directors from the Ministry and its Agencies. The Navy Command led by Flag Officer Commanding Western Naval Command, Rear Admiral Micheal Oamen emphasized that the cleanup will be a regular exercise and that the Command is ready to collaborate with the relevant agencies of the Ministry to ensure enforcement sustainability in line with what the Military authorities call Civil Military Engagement. A #Google delegation led by their VPs Mr.Chandu Thota and Surapaneni , visited the command control centre at iCCC Banjara Hills. They were explained the various technologies and softwares and tools being used , the CCTV projects , the ITMS project , the data centres etc . Mainly the request was for them to check out how we can integrate the live google maps traffic data, automating traffic signals based on vehicle counts , real time tracking of patrol vehicles , deployment of drones so that the citizens can have a better travel experience . They agreed to do so now that they have signed an MOU with the Government of Telangana and will come up with cloud and AI based solutions.

Hamas has weaponized ambulances. The terrorists use ambulances as mobile units to maintain freedom of operation in the war zone. They go from the combat zone, to hospitals with tunnels, then into the tunnels to command centers and back to combat. This is the modus operandi. This is a war crime. Abuse of the medical mission jeopardizes civilians in need and they intentionally use protected symbols to conceal their actions. International organizations, such as ICRC World Health Organization (WHO) must publicly condemn these actions and hold Hamas accountable. So far they are silent.

Neil Armstrong’s Apollo 11 Hand Controllers 55 years ago today, the mighty Saturn V roared to life and launched Apollo 11 skyward. Neil Armstrong sat in the left seat with this translational controller T-handle in his left hand and this rotational controller at his right — the control joysticks for the spacecraft. But the left handle has a special function at launch: if catastrophe struck on the pad or during ascent, a counterclockwise crank of the handle would initiate the solid rocket engines in the red escape tower, pulling the Command Module away from the rest of the rocket, to return separately by parachute. For the entirely of the Apollo program, that handle was never twisted, even on Apollo 12 when lighting strikes disabled the entire control deck of the Command Module and lit up almost all of the alarms. The user interface continues to the present day, with a similar T-handle at the center of the SpaceX Dragon display deck. The handle felt the same to me, with a similar twist to the left. In the final photos, you see the translational and rotational controllers that flanked Neil Armstrong on Apollo 11. They were removed from the Command Module post flight as with each of the Apollo missions, and after decades in storage, discarded as waste in 1985. They have had several owners since then, and if I can obtain the third controller, I intend to reunite the lot with their spacecraft by donating them to the Smithsonian.

Neil Armstrong sat in the left seat with this translational controller T-handle in his left hand and this rotational controller at his right — the control joysticks for the spacecraft. But the left handle has a special function at launch: if catastrophe struck on the pad or during ascent, a counterclockwise crank of the handle would initiate the solid rocket engines in the red escape tower, pulling the Command Module away from the rest of the rocket, to return separately by parachute. For the entirely of the Apollo program, that handle was never twisted, even on Apollo 12 when lighting strikes disabled the entire control deck of the Command Module and lit up almost all of the alarms. The user interface continues to the present day, with a similar T-handle at the center of the SpaceX Dragon display deck. The handle felt the same to me, with a similar twist to the left. In the final photos, you see the translational and rotational controllers that flanked Neil Armstrong on Apollo 11. They were removed from the Command Module post flight as with each of the Apollo missions, and after decades in storage, discarded as waste in 1985. They have had several owners since then, and if I can obtain the third controller, I intend to reunite the lot with their spacecraft by donating them to the Smithsonian.
