A first of its kind study has found too much screen time is damaging many toddlers' ability to speak. The research has prompted the government to offer new guidance to families to try and put the brakes on the problem.

Over the last decade I’ve helped several hundred families fight to get better support for their children. Right now the special education needs system is not working for too many children, too many parents and too many schools. The Government has tried to fix things but I fear that they have left parents with more questions than answers. Their changes will leave young people to the lottery of the system and place too much burden on teachers. We need to focus on real support for those who need it and start asking why the number of children with special education needs has increased so much in recent years.
