A fish eagle probably miscalculated and ended up falling and drowning. It's exhausted. Its feathers are not as waterproof as those of a duck, and they become so wet that they prevent it from flying. The couple saved it with a buoy.

I had a similar encounter with a bald eagle.

This family saved a bird and instead of saying something positive some people in the comments are complaining about it. So many angry and unhappy people in this world. Sad.

it's nice to see someone that knows how to handle wildlife in distress!!! Take note of how he never touches the animal. I have watch people make things worse by thinking they are helping by handling a creature. Don't touch them if you don't have to.

I found an injured red tail hawk in the middle of a busy road one morning. Used my shirt to wrap him up and bring him to the closest lawn. The homeowner called a raptor rescue in the area and they came and got him. I’ve lost count of the number of animals I’ve rescued😂

so you guys couldn't think for yourselves that maybe the birds flight feathers are too wet for it to fly so maybe take it out the water for it to dry ?? Humans are ontop of the food chain start acting like the bosses you are ffs

Stop the boat by yelling at the captain, pull the bird in. Let it hang to your forearm or on the life vest and lift it towards the boat. I get these birds are dangerous but I just saw another video of a grown man being scared to act because he might get clawed (got claw anyway)

Omg I was so mad watching this video! Why why why didn’t they pick him up. And get him on boat. He was so exhausted and barely hanging on! I hate people that are so afraid of touching animals that are in danger. He clearly was so happy they were helping him and would not try to bite her. I keep calling the bird him lol. Then we didn’t even get to see the end lol

Why not just fold its wings from the back and place it on land? It’s so exhausted it probably would not fight. But they leave it in the water!!

I sure hope they didn’t leave it floating in the water and got it to shore. If wildlife services won’t help, then contact a Rehabber, because they are the ones that will load up their car and rescue, get the bird to a vet for assessment, treatment and then release. The osprey could be hungry and weak. Depending on when this occurred it could’ve been a hungry juvenile that hasn’t eaten in a while.
