Griffin from Citadel in one his interview said Citadel chose only 5 AI projects from 500 proposed. No one hedged fund will delegate their trading flow to AI nowadays. Here the former fund manager just plays with AI without showing any ROI

This checks out — it’s Brian Kelly (formerly ran a crypto hedge fund) and his firm Bracket22, which he built around AI agents including “Houston,” “Steffi,” and “Desmond” (the post says “Doocey,” which may be a mishearing/typo). CNBC reported he cut annual labor costs from roughly $5M to $30–40K a year, and the fund trades only his own capital

Interesting architecture. The red-team role makes this more than agent theater. The production test is shared state, clear authority, and a kill/recovery path when agents disagree or data goes stale. Less headcount. More auditable control loops.

The org chart is the wrong unit of comparison. This is not one human replaced by many agents. It is one accountable operator expanding capacity through specialized systems. The real test is whether decisions remain attributable when the thesis fails.

A hedge fund manager wrote his investors a goodbye letter. The crypto market that never closes had broken him. 17 months later CNBC filmed his new fund. 4 AI agents, zero humans on payroll, $40,000 a year all in. Nobody in it sleeps. The letter is still on X. 769 views. You run the same f*cking shift he quit. Hyperliquid at 3am, a Bitcoin alert in bed. You just never had $5,000,000 of payroll to prove it wasn't working. From the letter: "Markets that never close have taken a toll that I could only fully recognize once I paused." From the CNBC clip: "If it's 3 in the morning and I have an idea, I can just ping them. I don't have to worry about waking somebody up in the middle of the night, which I may or may not have done in the past." 7 or 8 people in New York, Hong Kong and California. $5,000,000 a year. Could not cover 3am. 4 bots, started on Claude Opus 4.6. $40,000 a year. Never off. 10x the output, his number. > Houston is mission control. Every bot reports to him. > Steffi, yes, Steffi Graf, marks up the charts. >Desmond runs the quant strategies over the weekend. > Doocey is the red team. Every thesis gets attacked before a dollar moves. Two Sigma keeps 1,700 people on that job. Behind them sits what he calls the corporate brain. Every trade, every email, every piece of research is a node, wired to everything else in the firm "almost like neurons". "Take a staff of 100, you've got a staff of 1,000" "I've talked to people working at big hedge funds now. They're doing something like this." 527,000 people watched his clip in 8 days. Brian Kelly kept one job in it. He calls it the meat in the chair. The market still never closes. He just isn't the one awake for it anymore.

Rajon Rondo gives his thoughts on the new-look Philadelphia 76ers and why he believes LeBron James could have them in position to win it all: “Brilliant move. I mean, he's got arguably the young best point guard in the game. I think he averaged 30 points a game this year. Bron is, like, you know, the king on the chessboard. You know, he has a lot of all the pieces, all the right pieces to make the right moves. we all know he's, he's a great basketball, one of the greatest basketball minds to play the game. If you give him these type of pieces to play with, you know, I, I'm an early bet with them being the favorites to win. You know, and my, and my book, I'm not a bettor, but if I was to bet, I would bet the Sixers early. Like I said, he Embiid, all those guys, no, like, nobody has to play 82 games. they can all spread out. You know, you got the, the combination of the hunger, the hot combination of wanting to prove something a lot of people talk bad about. You know, obviously, the JB'S, Bron and Embiid, you got a nice combination of guys that have a lot of fuel and a fire left at the proof something this year and again in the playoffs. They get to the playoffs healthy. LeBron on the court, you know, the player he is. Obviously, we all know who he is. He has Tyrese Maxey as, as a weapon. He has JB. Um, he doesnt have to play any defense. He can talk the entire backs out on defense side of the ball, put guys in the right spot, and then again in fourth quarter control and manipulating outsmart whoever is the opposite best player on the team. And he doesn't have to do it physically so much with his mind, because he has better weapons around him now—young, athletic guys that can do a lot of and play multiple, you know, multiple positions. And then again, if, if Embiid gets to the playoffs with LeBron, if he listens to LeBron and follows his lead, you know how he's a, he's a pro. And like I said, they get all the juju out of that organization. Everything, you know, good karma happens for those guys. They got a great chance to get it done.”
