@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton Nope. That’s a let off. Points deduction to ensure relegation. Forced ownership sale. Massive fine.

25 points is too lenient. Everton got 6 points for 1 charge. Use that as a precedent. 114 X 6 = 684 9 seasons of cheating? 684 ÷ 9 = 76. So 76 points per season. If we use 3 point per charge, then that's 38 points per season for 9 years. Bt they MUST be relegated, so maybe 76 points for the first season, then 38 point yearly for the next 8 years. Finally, strip them of ALL the trophies. I could get behind that.

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton That is a nothing punishment. It should be title stripping and club should be sold and placed in lower league.

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton Almost impossible? A 100 point season from them would mean they almost win the league last year

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton It's a terrible decision - they're just win Conference League, Europa League and then Champions League.

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton I guarantee you , if this happens Manchester City will still make it to the UCL

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton No. It's not just missing out on the Champions League, they need to not be in the Premier League. And even then, it can't just be one season out then come back, they need to be gone for a long time.

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton Nope not severe enough. Minimum 300 point deduction this season. Banned from all cup competitions this year and sent down to the National League. Plus any money sued by clubs, players and staff who were affected

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton If you dig deep you will find out he’s an Arsenal fan, they don’t want to compete they just want the league handed to them.

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton 2023/204 season the last time City won the EPL. If you deduct 20 points from them, they will still finish on 71 points, which is higher than the 4th-place team, Villa.

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton If this happened to City in the last 5 seasons: 25/26: 7th 24/25: 14th 23/24: 4th 22/23: 5th 21/22: 6th If the aim is to not let them in the UCL. Theyd still do it. Whether that’s via the league or via the UEL. All while they get the revenue from being a PL club. Shit idea imo.

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton Almost impossible, maybe. But they get into a Europa League spot, win the thing, and they are in the Champions League the following season. And the Premier League won't kick them out of the CL.

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton They shouldn’t be playing in the league at all. Relegation is a minimum

How do you arbitrarily arrive at 25 points? Everton were docked 6 points (from an initial 10) for 1 breach. So if they are docking points, it should be along the set precedent, ie multiples of 6. So, 114×6 = 684 points over the period they were charged for: 9 years. Deduct 684 points every season they are in the PL for 9 seasons. Everytime they come up, they are guaranteed relegation at the end of the season.

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton the only fair sanction is immediate relegation to the lowest pro-level league (ie. League 2) then apply 50 pts deduction for the following 3-5 seasons. They caused untold consequences to multitude of clubs & individuals. Letting them stay in the league is already lenient.

What a pathetic suggestion and a weak punishment. Throw the book at them. Strip every title and trophy. Expell the dirty cheats from the prem into non- league. Addition points reductions for the next decade. 5 year transfer ban. Ban the owners and anyone associated with them from future ownership. Insert someone into their set up to oversee and report back on all future dealings in real time. Too harsh….😉

If City are relegated to national league, players like Haaland wont play for them. So all their players will be gone. And they'll have to fight their way back to the PL. This should be the sanction. So the deceleration will keep them in the league, but then some players would stay.

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton I think people are getting hung up on the amount he said. I agree with the sentiment. I would structure it in a way where they are fighting relegation. Next 5 years you start negative 60 points or something

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton So they still get revuene from Europe? Which they will qualify for, and probably win, so where's the punishment?

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton They’d qualify by winning the Europa after winning a cup or something

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton It sounds more like wishful thinking than any proper court ruling 😒

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton Clearly insufficient and only transposes into lower revenue, which is the irony joke. CFG should be forced to sell the club and vacate any sporting achievements during the period in question.
@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton Everton eventually got 6 points for one breach. By that standard, City deserve a 684 point deduction. I think spreading this out over 7 seasons would be fair 😁

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton As the CL admits 5 teams from England City could still qualify for the CL with a 25 point deduction. A 40 point deduction would remove that possibility.

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton They’ll gladly sit around in midtable. Won’t stop them hoarding players and spending hundreds of million.

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton What if they win Europa league?

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton Let’s guess which club he worked at? Anyone recall when LFC had all English clubs banned from European football for 6 years? City deserve punishment but proportional punishment. I don’t recall LFC being kicked out of the league.

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton Nope. Absolutely not. Kick them out of the premier league. Make them pay compensation to clubs that lost out. Take away their titles.

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton 45 points and I’d agree

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton Even after deducting 25 points, they still have 89 points in hand and would qualify comfortably by finishing above 80 points. At this rate, the deduction needs to be doubled to 50 points every season for the next 10 years! 😆

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton No, relegate them for 1 season and then deduct 30 points for the next 10yrs. Do you know the damage their cheating has caused. Maybe westham wouldn't have been relegated, maybe Ipswich, Burnley wouldn't have been relegated maybe other clubs might have finished top 4, who's knows?

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton they should do -70 for 4 seasons & strip them of their titles make it vacant no need to give them to 2nd placed teams & since owners can't be trusted to follow rules, have them sell the club - states should not be owning football clubs.

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton Good idea but not enough. Nobody in sport who cheated to get to where they are, would be allowed to just continue competing. They must be expelled from football.

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton They cheated for decades! This would be an absolute nonsense. I'd expect Newcastle to sponsor themselves for 2 billion the day after this punishment.

@AdamCrafton_ @MissEmmaPaton Errr, no. As an absolute minimum the City ownership has to be banned from English football forever and the club demoted to at least the Championship, arguably L2. The AbuDhabi lot have proven they will do anything to circumvent rules & regulations, and try to out lawyer sanction
