A man has recounted how his girlfriend of about four years allegedly conspired with her alleged side boyfriend to pour acid on him after he secured a work visa to travel to Dubai. He said he ended the relationship after overhearing her telling her mother she no longer wanted to be with him. According to him, she later withheld his passport, which he eventually retrieved. However, on the morning of his departure, an unidentified man allegedly splashed acid on his face as he was about to board a vehicle, leaving him with permanent scars.
