The koala was crying out in agony, its body scorched, its fur blackened, struggling step by step along a road surrounded by fire. Without a moment’s hesitation, she gently took off her shirt, carefully wrapped the koala, and tenderly poured water over its burns to ease the pain. Then she quickly rushed it to the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital.
