As our schools reopen for the new term, I urge every Kenyan to join hands in ensuring the safety of our children on the roads. With thousands of students returning to school across the country, our roads will experience a surge in traffic. To motorists: -Slow down and be alert when approaching school zones and pedestrian crossings; children may be walking and crossing unexpectedly. -Obey speed limits, traffic signs, and signals at all times. -Ensure your vehicle is roadworthy; brakes, lights, tyres, and mirrors must be in good condition. -Do not overload vehicles carrying children. To parents and guardians: -Choose safe and compliant transport for your children. -Teach children the basics of road safety; looking both ways before crossing and using designated crossings. We hear the painful reality that many survivors of gender-based violence are forced to recount their experience repeatedly to the police, healthcare providers, investigators, prosecutors, and in court. Each retelling reopens wounds. For too many, the process becomes so overwhelming that they abandon their pursuit of justice altogether. This is a failure of our institutions. Kenya must adopt a survivor-centred justice system that minimizes repeated testimony by strengthening coordination between agencies, and expanding access to trauma-informed support which will ensure GBV cases are heard and concluded without unnecessary delay. Let us build institutions that protect survivors with dignity and hold perpetrators swiftly to account. #ActNowToEndGBV

We understand that the SA government failed to implement the immigration act 13 of 2002 to protect our country and its wealth. However the people who are making things worse for us in our communities are women. Old grannies that takes goods on credit and women that sleep with these things. We will not be ruled by a minority group of greedy women who are emotionally compromised by foreigners and are forced to think for their stomachs. Reacting to recent comments by First Lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, who announced her intention to support the library’s completion as part of her birthday celebrations, the ADC expressed appreciation for her gesture, but stressed that the National Library cannot be reduced to a personal pet project. According to the party, the National Library, established by an Act of Parliament in 1964, is the custodian of Nigeria’s collective memory and intellectual heritage. In this regard, its completion and long-term maintenance, the ADC argued, must be prioritized through transparent, sustainable and predictable national funding, not through goodwill donations. The full statement read: The African Democratic Congress (ADC) acknowledges and appreciates the thoughtful gesture of The First Lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, in drawing attention to the abandoned National Library of Nigeria project in Abuja as part of her birthday celebrations. However, as a responsible party, we must firmly state that the National Library of Nigeria cannot, and must not, be reduced to the status of a personal pet project of any individual, no matter how well-intentioned.
