I remember this. I was only a little kid back then, but my family watched this coverage, then turned the sound down for the rest of the news stories while they reminisced. Back then, TV stars were so big that when a popular one passed away, it was like losing a family member.

I went to see this live as a young lad with my family. Dad loved him, we all did.

Lot of compliments but little warmth in the tributes. FDLT and Leonard had big political differences. To the extent that when the script called for Rigsby to kiss Miss Jones, he wouldn't.

I miss Len everyday.
