A great swing & mechanics doesn’t make a great hitter- stellar approach does. Hitting has been mediocre due to a poor approach. Too many players taking fastballs early, and don’t have the intention of going to the opposite gap. It’s the mindset that separates the AVG & the great

@thepureswingsd It's both. You don't see bad mechanics play at the professional level either

Yes. It’s both, but mindset is the difference maker

So "The Paudenka" has become a thing. Great to witness a true moment of genius. What separates the great players from the rest is the ability to weigh up all the variables and in a split second make a decision and execute a difficult skill to perfection.

This is one of the greatest feelings a hitter will ever experience… and most players never learn it. This drill has nothing to do with mechanics. It has everything to do with execution. The pitcher mixes fastballs and slow balls. Your only two rules: ⚾ Slow pitch or spin? Don’t roll it over. ⚾ Fastball? Don’t pull it. Now you’re forced to recognize speed instead of guessing. You’re training your eyes, your timing, and your approach—not just your swing. This is one of my favorite two-strike drills because it teaches hitters to trust what they see instead of committing too early. A great swing is important. Knowing when to use it is what separates hitters. Train with an expert, not an influencer.

This is a great two-fold clip of Oklahoma Softball ‘s Ailana Agbayani who controls not only her rhythm and timing perfectly, but also has the right approach for staying above a rise/screw pitcher. Great rhythm and a smart approach makes average players good and good players GREAT.

🚨 Steven Kwan: Swing Breakdown • Stable & balanced on the back leg • Soft landing on the stride • Move the body & hands will follow ⭐️ Very simple approach to a great swing. Balanced, stay back, and let the lower body drive the hands forward.

Always have a great night over at Chelmsford! If you have not been yet it’s well worth the trip over. They have a great stadium a great team of players, love the manager and the owner, BUT i love the staff team! Some great people working on the gates, the bars and the girls in hospitality are brilliant! Got to see my fav player too at Chelmsford, added bonus!

heavy criticism that Allegri doesn’t have an offensive plan & that he’s a 🦖 with his approach. The truth is, his approach is same as that of Inzaghi. Numbers also tell us a story of a mediocre team that’s over-performing defensively & cannot score a goal to save a life.

Dabo Swinney shares what separates the great players he's been around. "You gotta embrace the suck. The great players that I've been around…they love the preparation." Most people tolerate preparation. They get through it to get to the game. But the great ones? They find purpose in it. They understand that how you prepare is how you will perform. Excellence is a daily habit.
