while we don’t know for sure if the iPhone mirroring feature will come to the Apple Vision Pro, I sure hope it does. for now, it's available on Mac—i tested it and it's amazing! here’s how you can experience it on your Mac today: 1. make sure both your iPhone and Mac are running the latest beta versions of iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia. 2. position your iPhone near your Mac. 3. an icon titled "iPhone Mirroring" will appear on your Mac's Dock. 4. select the "Continue" button on your Mac. 5. unlock your iPhone when prompted. 6. on your Mac, click the "Get Started" button. 7. with your iPhone locked, open the "iPhone Mirroring" app on your Mac. this feature is a game-changer, and i can’t wait for the day it hopefully comes to the Vision Pro!

Google just shipped a free dictation app for Mac and iPhone called AI Edge Eloquent, and the model running it is Gemma 4 12B, entirely on your device. What it actually does: you speak, it transcribes, removes filler words, and polishes the result before dropping clean text into whatever app you are using. You can also give it voice commands to reformat, like "translate to Hindi" or "make this a bullet list." Audio and video file transcription is built in too. The interesting part is the privacy angle. Most AI writing tools send your audio to a server. This one never leaves your machine, which matters if you are dictating anything sensitive. The tradeoff is hardware: you need a Mac with at least 16GB of RAM to run a 12B parameter model comfortably.

Once it’s plugged in, it shows up on the other users device as a WiFi hotspot, they connect to it and instantly have control over the device the cable is plugged into. Although it’s used for ethical means to detect vulnerabilities in software for phones. People are buying them and leaving them around places like airports waiting for someone to take it and use it. Knowing how easy this works, would you be weary about using anyone else’s cables anymore?
