I need to be in one of these studies immediately! Under certain health circumstances this can help understand why benzodiazepines can have analgesic affects and be a proactive assault long term against the 24/7 colon and bowel problems/cancers.

The MAST Program is proud to announce a Phase 2 clinical study to evaluate the next-generation compound designed to target the small intestinal microbiome. Building on the science of rifaximin, this new compound is being studied at Cedars-Sinai as a potential treatment for irritable bowel syndrome with diarrhea (IBS-D). This multi-center Phase 2 trial is enrolling its first patient this week and reflects the direct translation of MAST-led research into clinical investigation. Our work has helped identify hydrogen sulfide as a key driver of gastrointestinal symptoms, laying the scientific foundation for targeted therapeutic advances. At MAST, this is what progress looks like: translating cutting-edge microbiome science into meaningful advances for patients with complex gastrointestinal disorders. Non-NET PhD research fellows get a stipend of Rs. 8,000 a month, which has remained the same since 2006. Normally, revisions to the fellowship amount take place every 4 years. The research scholars are also facing difficulties due to insufficient resources at their institutions, inadequate support from the supervisors, and the absence of grievance redressal committees. I urge the Education Minister and the UGC to consider a significant hike in the stipend amount for Non-NET PhD research fellows. : Dr. Shashi Tharoor in Lok Sabha

I shared the story of Natalie, a mom from WA with stage 4 colorectal cancer enrolled in an NIH clinical trial, but she was told her care was delayed because of RFK Jr.'s staffing cuts. He couldn't tell me how many staff at the NIH clinical center had been fired. He admitted NIH cuts, "are gonna hurt." I'm pushing his office to address Natalie's case ASAP, but there also needs to be accountability for other patients like Natalie whose story we don't know.

Ranging in size from as small as a speck of pepper to the size of an apple seed, ticks can be hard to spot and remove, increasing the chance of exposure to tick-borne diseases. NIH researchers are exploring how to trigger a process found in animals, where molecules called cytokines activate the neurons that cause us to itch. This would allow humans to scratch off a tick before it can transmit disease. Watch the full video to learn more:
