According to media reports, Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, did not attend the ceremony. He had reportedly wanted to take part in the farewell, but was advised by security services to stay out of public view. The funeral prayer was led by Ali Khamenei’s eldest son, Mostafa.
