Maryna Muzyka and her husband dreamed of opening their own coffee shop. Then, a year ago, Maryna's husband died defending Ukraine. Typical coffee shop in Kyiv, filled with people on laptops building their futures, working remotely, and creating things. While cafes in other countries often discourage laptop use, in Ukraine, it's encouraged. Even at the mediocre cafes there are power outlets and fast wifi. This isn't even the best one, just one near my house. This is a typical Tuesday afternoon. The only place in the world that even comes close to Kyiv's cafe scene is Chiang Mai, Thailand which comes in 2nd place. Everywhere else you need to pay $150+ a month for a coworking space membership, work in an office, or from home.
