This 1950s one-owner home is packed with original mid-century details — from the metal General Electric counters and cork trim to the stackstone fireplace, metallic wallpaper, and even a hidden room behind a bookshelf. It’s got a huge diving pool out back and still feels full of character, even after sitting empty for a while. What surprised me most was how much bigger and more charming it felt once you got inside. The only thing I’d personally change is the carpet in that gold metallic bathroom — everything else is perfect just the way it is. Typical coffee shop in Kyiv, filled with people on laptops building their futures, working remotely, and creating things. While cafes in other countries often discourage laptop use, in Ukraine, it's encouraged. Even at the mediocre cafes there are power outlets and fast wifi. This isn't even the best one, just one near my house. This is a typical Tuesday afternoon. The only place in the world that even comes close to Kyiv's cafe scene is Chiang Mai, Thailand which comes in 2nd place. Everywhere else you need to pay $150+ a month for a coworking space membership, work in an office, or from home.
