She literally just took the words out of my mouth, as a first time mom i am so shocked at the private school systems here in Joburg like are we actually getting value for our money?? Because quite frankly it feels more like a business transaction.

Yeah now it’s like they are just expensive for vibes as long they are making money and filling their pockets

😩😩😩my son is only 2 and with this little experience we have with schools I can already pick it up, I can only imagine what will happen as he grows older.

Private schools are not meant to be affordable.

Private schools were good when they were private. When they were for 1%'s now anyone with money has access to them

Because of what they heard about them that’s why people would do anything to take their kids to a private school

My kids have been exposed to both private and public schooling. I always recommend historically "Afrikaans" schools that are deemed as "progressive". The quality of education? Discipline? Culture? Absolutely out of this world.

Private schools are profit driven and many of the low level ones will not hire highly qualified teachers with degrees. We'll see what happens now that Zimbabwean teachers are going home

As a person who's attended a private school for most of his entire schooling career I can tell u that it's worth it but it's all up to the child's mindset.. If the child is a loser hell be a loser private school Js shows u that there's a world outside of your normal one.

The public Hoërskools still produce best education on the same level as the so called private schools.

It’s interesting we will listen to people who complain about private schooling take their kids to private schooling. We all know which environments we would like our kids to have exposure to. Simple. That’s what people pay for- not the education. The environment that shapes them.

I’ve worked in former Model C, Elite Privates & Public Schools. Curros, Spark & so forth are barely different from public schools compared to your St Johns & Marys. These private schools on top of Salons in town pay teachers almost 4k pm hence why they are always hiring!

@KabeloWorldWidz @les0501 They are not....no fee means going to school for free and those are public schools. Regardless of the location. If you stay in kasi it's more beneficial to go to a school in kasi to save money and time. The curriculum is same in SA.

@KabeloWorldWidz @les0501 Kasi shcool is about the environment, the type of teachers & peers your children are in contact with. The lack of facilities, lack of cultural access, lack of extra murals. Education is the same as you say. Shcool is not all education... It's experiences & character building.

In some cases you not paying for the "education" or "service" you are paying for the name and network.

Private schools are just ridiculous now more than ever because they know most public schools are sh*t because of mismanagement and lack of funding sine DBE has been politicized now.

From the mouths of wealthy people, private school is less about the education and more about the network. Wealthy people have clocked that if you want your child to have access to the upper echelons of society, then you’ll take them to private school. I get it

Najority of Private school kids have a rich network. Their counterparts get to varsity and end up unemployed graduates. offcourse few fall thorugh the cracks, just like few public school ones get ahead in corporate.

Our government's failure is the reason why private schools flourish and for as long as itt continues to fail, private schools will remain a lucrative business with ridiculously high fees

the type of friends your child will make in private school can take him far in life, real connections from primary without him being aware of it. You’re paying for the enviroment. Same way the exact same house in Sandton would be much cheaper in Alex.
