CNN anchor Dana Bash says kapos were "Jews who were helping keep the peace, so to speak, in the Nazi concentration camps.” But as Darcie Grunblatt observes, Bash's definition is absurd. "The U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum notes that beating and punishing subordinate prisoners was a required duty for kapos, with many committing murders to meet SS expectations, a brutal reality Nobel Laureate Elie Wiesel documented in his memoir Night," Grunblatt writes in a recent analysis. Bash is supposed to be "CNN’s premier voice on American Jewry and antisemitism." But instead of confronting misinformation about the Holocaust and Israel, she's aiding in "amplifying harmful revisionism under the banner of legacy journalism."

In his resignation speech this morning, Sir Keir Starmer said: “Six years ago I inherited a party that was...morally bankrupt.” He elaborated, declaring: “We changed our Party, ripping out the poison of antisemitism.” The reality is that Sir Keir’s record on antisemitism is a very mixed bag. He sat in the antisemite Jeremy Corbyn’s shadow cabinet for years and backed him to become Prime Minister. Only later, following electoral defeat and then the EHRC report, which followed our referral, did he decide that the Party had become “morally bankrupt” and needed antisemitism torn out “by its roots”. To his credit, he then did change the Party in relation to antisemitism from what it was under Mr Corbyn, who, to underscore the scale of the change, is no longer even a member. Still, the Party has more to do – year on year in our polling of British Jews it is viewed as more tolerant of antisemitism among its officeholders than any other. The remedial job is not over. But Sir Keir deserves gratitude for starting that process. Addressing antisemitism in a political party is one thing. Confronting it in society is another, and far more urgent. On that score, Sir Keir, like his predecessor, has been a failure. Antisemitism in Britain has surged to levels unknown in living memory. That has taken place under the watch of this Government and the last one, across two parties, with no end in sight. Not only has far too little been done, even after repeated promises, but Sir Keir’s Government has even taken measures that have made matters worse, with some foreign policy declarations pouring fuel on the fire. As the country looks forward, addressing this shocking extremism in our society must be a top priority for Sir Keir’s successor. CAA will be there every step of the way, to support the right policies and call out the failures.

I’m in New Orleans for a conference with mayors from across North America, gathered to confront the surge in Jew-hatred. And right on cue, a hateful mob showed up screaming, chanting genocidal rhetoric, calling for the end of Israel. Their hate and bigotry were on full display for every mayor to see. Why protest a conference on antisemitism unless you’re intent on undermining — or ending — Jewish life in America?

At the first whiff of antisemitism in October 2023 there needed to be clear leadership from our federal Labor govt. But there was not. Instead, they walked both sides of the street, uttered weasel words and undermined a decades long bipartisan position on Israel. The failure of leadership has led to a steady stream of attacks like this. I can’t believe this is a daily occurrence in Australia. #auspol

The British Museum in London has postponed its scheduled presentation on the history of Ancient Israel, and Judea, due to major security concerns. It was discovered a large number of radical pro Palestinian activists signed up to the event to disrupt it, and cause mayhem and chaos. The British Museum was supporting “Jewish Culture Month” but the extremists wish to sabotage anything connected with Jewish heritage, culture or history. This will keep happening until the British government stops pandering to these antisemites and takes firm action, like it did with far right activists, and those writing “offensive Facebook posts.” The pro Palestinian activists are scared that the public will hear the truth. STAND UP AND FIGHT THIS NEW FASCISM
