A huge problem with the Netlix remake is that at every point they refuse to engage with the heart and soul of what makes these characters interesting and subversive for a fantasy story just for another boring action scene. Zuko refusing to fight at all is CENTRAL for his story.

This scene is so interesting to look at with knowledge of Elements. For seasons they build up that characters like Finn and Marcy see him as Simon and then they challenge the audience's comfortability with that and ask if that was actually a good thing. This show is so good....

This is another scene trafficking in boring clichés: The camera slowly swoops around Syril, as he gazes with wet eyes upon scenes of generic carnage, to the accompaniment of maudlin string music. Syril is experiencing Profound Moral Feelings. Everything he believed in was a lie?? This goes on for some time. I can already predict the responses to this. But I am completely serious. What is actually interesting about this? This is just not remarkable at all. Gilroy is going through the motions of a totally predictable story in a totally pedestrian way. And that is a consistent failing of the series.

THEY ACTUALLY DID IT!! Even the title of the video is "Fortnite’s Zero Point: The Story So Far." And instead of just recapping CH6's story, they recapped the entirety of Phase 1 of Fortnite's Storyline for everyone! 🥹🔥 Just like the vast majority, I've rewatched this recap a multitude of times and I love that they even got Troy Baker to narrate the entire thing as Jones. Hearing the Imagined Order and The Seven's themes play in the recap made me smile so much. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that Geno is the main focus of the thumbnail for the story recap. And fun fact, out of all the old scenes, Geno's scene was the only one that had something extra added to it (the extra yellow glow added to his eyes). The rest of the clips just used transitions. Both of these things are very deliberate, and I believe it's the writers way to tell everyone that Geno is extremely important and his story is far from over. Moving forward I hope they continue doing these story recaps and that we'll hopefully get a recap for 2026's storyline. Thank you so much to the team that was behind creating this story recap for all of us! ❤️

he just chose not to engage with this film and thats really lame, the characters literally spell it out for you, and its not the typical "we're all the same" copy paste message they always dumb down for kids movies but actually something with a lot of heart and nuance
