A man in Techiman has shared a video of a slender-snouted crocodile spotted in the river, which he says surfaced due to the large amounts of waste being dumped into it. He strongly advised residents to stop polluting the river, noting that the waste is harmful to the crocodiles. He further warned parents to be vigilant and keep their children away from the river as they could be at risk, and also cautioned people constructing buildings close to the river that the crocodiles are capable of climbing fences and entering their homes.

A major operation has begun to remove the waste from a giant illegal dump in Oxfordshire. About 21,000 tonnes of mixed domestic and commercial rubbish was dumped in 2025 between the River Cherwell and the A34 near Kidlington. The clean-up, carried out by the tax-funded Environment Agency, will involve the removal of 15-30 lorry loads of the waste each day. The site was first discovered in June, and the clean-up operation follows months of pressure from the local community. It is expected to take about six months to complete. A criminal investigation is underway to catch the perpetrators of waste crime.

Youtuber JiDion livestreamed his court hearing on Twitch. During the hearing, the Judge orders JiDion to stay away from the house that the squatter is in. He and his lawyer have asked the judge what will happen as JiDion is legally allowed to be on the property. This seems to have made the judge mad, and the judge asked whether the squatter is, in fact, squatting. To which the detective on the case answered that the squatter is being evicted on Friday, June 26th, but that no eviction papers were shown. To which the judge refuses to provide findings that the squatter is in fact a squatter.

Comm. says the State Government will continue to pay special attention to waste conversion The quest to make good use of the high solid waste generated in Lagos State got another boost on Tuesday as the state expressed readiness to partner with some Sweden organizations on how to turn both solid waste and liquid waste to energy across the metropolis. Speaking during the meeting at Alausa, Commissioner for the Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab said the state will continue to pay special attention to waste management adding that waste is not a waste but remain one of the best resource every where. He said Waste to energy is a project that the State Government is willing to embark on in order to move the narrative forward in a progressive and productive way. "Our resolve from the beginning of this tenure is that whatever we have to engage in to manage and deploy our solid and liquid waste as a resource is a priority for this government as it will save Lagos but other neighbouring state" he said. The Commissioner stated that the Ministry which is a public facing ministry has resolved to embrace any project that will cut the carbon foot print in the state. He said the state being a coastal state is faces alot of challenges, one of which is the Atlantic Ocean rising at the peak of the rainy season adding that the state is also at the end of numerous tributaries where water is discharged into the lagoon all of which could lead to flooding in the state. He said lagos generates between 13,000 to 14,000 tonnes of waste per day and the state is open to suggestions about possible productive ways to turn it into a Resources and move the state forward. Wahab said lagos as a State is working to decongest the roads and make Lagos a 21st century mega city saying that the cause and effect on the environment is that these moves help to reduce the emissions on the long run. According to him, As a result of current energy crisis in Nigeria, this has caused the spike in the cost of PMS and its multiple effects on the economy. So if the Lagos State Government can go ahead with this project. it will solve half of the problem in the PMS high price in Lagos. "This project is something we have to pursue deliberately and diligently. This is because while the government on its own part is trying to push out CNG at lower cost, conversion of waste to energy will also be an option especially for public transport in Lagos" Wahab said Lagos account for over 50% of the vehicular traffic in the country with the smallest land mass as well as 22million people which is 10% of the country’s population being inhabited in with less than 3,600 square kilometers of land, stressing that the project is not an option but a necessity. He recalled that earlier in the year, the state government had been in consultation with two Dutch companies one which will turn waste to energy and the other which will deal with electronic waste, adding that the state can indeed change the notion that waste is not a waste but a resource. The head of the delegation, representative of the Consul of Sweeden and the Business Promotion Officer, Sweden Embassy Abuja, Ms. Sara Ibru noted that the Lagos Government is known to be very pro - active in all its endeavours and that the Swedish Organizations are willing to collaborate with Lagos State to turn solid and liquid wastes into valuable resources. A New Era of Sustainable Waste Management in Nagpur 🌱 Inspected the Nagpur Municipal Corporation's 'Integrated Municipal Solid Waste Processing Plant' at the Bhandewadi Dumping Yard, which is set to turn the vision of a waste-free city into reality. Operated by the international industrial conglomerate KEVA SusBDe, the facility will process 1200 tons of waste generated daily in Nagpur. To be completed in 3 phases, the project will ensure that all daily waste generated in the city is processed using advanced technologies. Through this project, both wet and dry waste will be collected and processed. The treatment process will generate biogas, high-quality compost fertilizer, and fuel pellets from dry waste. The Nagpur Municipal Corporation has allotted 30 acres of land for the initiative and will receive an annual royalty of ₹15,00,000 from gas sales. Directed the administration to extend all necessary support for its successful implementation. The biogas generated through this project will be utilised to supply CNG for 198 city buses. In addition, the project will provide energy pellets required by MAHAGENCO, further contributing to sustainable energy generation and resource utilisation. This landmark project will reinforce Nagpur’s position as a national model for sustainable solid waste management and environmentally responsible urban development. Last night, I supervised the collection of garbage from illegal dumping sites along road reserves across Nairobi County. I urge all Nairobi County residents to refrain from handing over their waste to street families or unregistered garbage collectors, as these often end up being dumped illegally along the road reserves. Let us take responsibility for our waste by ensuring it is either brought to designated transfer points within our sub-counties and respective wards or entrusted to a licensed private service provider, registered with the Nairobi County government. Together, we can keep our city clean and protect our shared environment.
