On May 9, 2026, deputies responded to the 18000 block of 4th Street Southeast in Lutz after Ray Cornett was reported missing. With multiple specialty units actively searching, it was Boomer who found Cornett in a wooded area a couple of hundred yards from his home. Cornett returned home safely.

The driver, 47-year-old William Murphy III, said the car had a mechanical issue, and he thought the best way to get the vehicle to a repair shop was to drive it in reverse. According to the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, the mechanical issues Murphy claimed to have had, disappeared when he was pulled over.
