A little breakdown of "filter effects" !

"Filter" tends to collectively refer to effects applied on top of the camera - notable examples being diffusion(DF)/fog, flare/halation(light gradation), parafin(dark gradation), grain etc.

Example of a typical filter setup for this work with the effects in order. Effects like DF are added to create the atmosphere then lighting and color adjustments. A setup like this is created for each location then saved as an .aep and imported for each cut using a script

(color adjustments are also included at this stage for logistics reasons though I'm intent on moving towards a more proper colorgrading setup)
