Elina Svitolina on facing Coco Gauff next in the Australian Open Quarterfinals: “I have to speak with my coach about the plan that I have to execute. We had some tough matches, tough battles. I think maybe the last 2 were in 3 sets. We played in the final of Auckland a couple of years back. We played also at US Open. We both know each others game. For me it’s important tomorrow to work on a few things, speak with my coach, and be ready for the extreme heat as well. A voice agent powered by gpt-oss. Running locally on my macBook. Demo recorded in a Waymo with WiFi turned off. I'm still on my space game voice AI kick, obviously. Code link below. For conversational voice AI, you want to set the gpt-oss reasoning behavior to "low". (The default is "medium".) Notes on how to do that and a jinja template you can use are in the repo. The LLM in the demo video is the big, 120B version of gpt-oss. You can use the smaller, 20B model for this, of course. But OpenAI really did a cool thing here designing the 120B model to run in "just" 80GB of VRAM. And the llama.cpp mlx inference is fast: ~250ms TTFT. Running a big model on-device feels like a time warp into the future of AI.

Madison Beer talks about the ‘locket’ tour stage and theme: “Amusement parks and the Tunnel of Love, which is basically a swan boat that you get in and go through it, and this is supposed to be my version of that. It’s supposed to be a ride through my memories. I thought it would be fun and a cool take on the locket thing because, you know, how can I take the locket concept and push it a step further and see what I can do with it versus it just being a locket tour? but that’s why we have the heart on stage, that’s where you get the little bit of the locket.”

We put a camera here over a year ago, unsure if it would be a good spot. Always lots of trial and error with cameras when trying to find good spots where wolves like to travel. But, it was a beautiful setting in some conifers along a small creek and we figured wolves would likely would travel through this more open terrain along the creek. Turns out, this was a pretty good spot. And it wasn’t just wolves that used this scenic stretch of forest as you can see. In total, we have captured more than 1,500 videos of wildlife on this camera in the past year or so (8.3 hours of footage). Most videos are of snowshoe hares and deer but wolves (the Half-Moon Pack) cruise through the area periodically as do most of the other forest predators. This 3 minute video is just a highlight reel of some of the most interesting footage. Big thanks to the Minnesota Environment and Natural Resource Trust Fund for their continued support of our work. That support allows us to share this footage and our findings with millions of people each year!

Unfortunately, the beginning of the keynote is a little messed up. My slides weren't formatted correctly and there are tons of shots of the faces of the crowd which I do not support. I've done my best to blur the crowd in these edited clips. I believe the conference is working on a version of its own that addresses these issues. The most important piece that got cut from the intro of my keynote was my tribute to We are all Gigi. I consider Gigi a genius. This presentation is an extension of his work. Jannik Sinner was asked about the changes he’s made to his serve since the U.S. Open, ‘At times I still lose it. It’s not a shot where I feel very safe with. At the same time, we are working on that’ “Can I get you to discuss the changes you made to your serve? In particular since the U.S. Open…” Jannik: “Yeah, I mean it’s not only US Open. I felt like the serve was and still is a shot where I need to improve. It’s the only shot we have where we can do everything by our self. There is a lot of room to improve. We changed the motion a little bit. The rhythm of the serve, before, it was too fast in the beginning. Now it’s a bit slower. The toss usually was a bit more in front, a bit on the right. Myths of Brume is the first TCG built entirely with pixel art cards (even the text is rendered within a 140×196 pixel grid). The upcoming collection features 300 original cards, each one hand-crafted pixel by pixel over the past two years. In this playtest version, the artwork is partially redacted — I don’t want spoilers before the full release. But the core experience is already in place. You can jump in, test the gameplay, build decks, and start shaping your own strategies. If you run into anything along the way, such as bugs, glitches, or unexpected behavior, you can report it using the in-game Bug Report button. Your feedback is a key part of this phase.
