We are extremely proud to announce the launch of a mental health awareness public service announcement featuring Cleveland Guardians assistant athletic trainer Jeff Desjardins, developed in collaboration with MLB and the U.S. Department of Labor Office of Disability Employment Policy. The campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of mental health and provide resources to those in need, whether they work in baseball or any type of workplace. “At the Department of Labor, we want all workers to feel supported, wherever they work—whether it’s a stadium, office, factory or any other environment,” said Assistant Secretary of Labor for Disability Employment Policy Taryn Williams. “This is a goal we share with PBATS, and we’re pleased to partner with them to shine a light on this important issue and educate America’s employers about best practices for meeting employees’ mental health needs.” “MLB proudly supports PBATS and the work they are doing to highlight the importance of mental health. MLB athletes face unique and varied demands, and PBATS members have always provided excellent, holistic care essential to the minds and bodies of our players,” said Jon Coyles, MLB’s Vice President of Drug, Health and Safety. “Education, awareness and de-stigmatizing mental health treatment are foundational to fostering a safe and productive environment for our athletes, and PBATS does an excellent job of making this a priority for players and fans alike.” For more resources, please visit: The Players’ Tribune AskEARN.org Mental Health America MLBNetworkPR MLB_PR

Many of the children of Daraya have never seen a space like this. They were born into war, into the barren and blown out landscape that the Assad regime & its Russian backers turned the Damascus suburb Daraya and huge swaths of Syria into. For years this area was under siege, its population starved, bombed, and forcibly displaced. The kids were timid at first, the soft flooring, the different toys and activities all something of a novelty, such a contrast to their world outside. They were so polite, repeatedly asking “Can I play with this? Is this all for us?” This space will have playtime, a reading corner, all sorts of fun activities and also many related to the children’s mental health. We will conduct group and one on one sessions for those who need it. One of the jarring things I heard was that in this area alone some 15,000 men were disappeared by the regime. We will also be conducting activities and mental health sessions for the mothers. Women are carrying the burden of both mother and father. Children constantly ask “where is Daddy?” Mothers used to say “Daddy is with the regime”. But they can’t say that anymore, the kids are responding “the regime is gone, why isn’t Daddy home”. Mothers don’t know how to explain that Daddy disappeared, that he’s either in a yet to be discovered mass grave or one of the corpses that was dug up, that he was just a number for the Assad regime. The traumas across this country are deep, raw wounds. In Daraya, we are also in the process of setting up a mobile primary care medical van. This is just the start of our work in Syria. We travelled to other areas pinpointing where we need to expand to, what sort of programs are needed. There are so many kids who never got the medical treatment they need to physically recover from their war injuries or whose parents can’t afford the cost. There’s a lot of work to be done in the mental health and access to education space, needs ranging from hygiene to nutrition. We’re trying to raise as much as we can this holiday season, so please donate here: And if you can’t please please do share.

In the Conference on the Future of Europe, people told us how much they cared about mental health. And they are right. Because mental health is simply health. We listened. And today we act, with the first 🇪🇺 approach to mental health - from prevention to treatment and recovery.

Today is World Mental Health day, a day to help end the stigma surrounding mental health and create awareness. I encourage all of us to take time today to support those around us. Because mental health is health and our government is supporting the health of all Ontarians.

Ye says BULLY's success means more than any of his #1 albums 🙏 "A year into making the project I went into an episode, so this right here is a celebration, a victory, and a success story of people who have dealt with mental health crises."

Great to discuss mental health and the importance of resilience as part of Children’s Mental Health Week. Building resilience is a big focus of the work we’re doing at the Harry Kane Foundation.

Heita daa! We’re excited to announce the launch of the #WearYourSupport campaign by Generation G! This May, join us in raising awareness about Gender-based Violence and Femicide (GBVF) in South Africa, while also highlighting the crucial topic of men’s mental health. Our campaign will create a safe space for dialogue, support, and advocacy. By reframing the narrative around men’s mental health, we aim to foster visibility, vulnerability, and healing. Let us continue working together to address the root causes of GBVF and work towards a safer, healthier society. Stay tuned for updates on events and activities throughout the month! #WearYourSupportGenG_RSA #MajitaMondays #ACD #GenerationGenderRSA #16days

More than a billion people are on the move, in search of safety, opportunity and dignity. Refugees and migrants are not just recipients of care, they are essential contributors to our health systems and our societies. When we support their health and inclusion in the health system, we build stronger, fairer and more resilient communities for all. The UK government has announced plans to introduce 100 new walk-in mental health centres in banks and libraries across England. It's part of a £343 million expansion of mental health services that will also include 69 dedicated mental health emergency departments. In her new role as health secretary in Andy Burnham's government, Yvette Cooper says it is the "biggest redesign of mental health services probably for a generation" but as our data correspondent, Ciaran Jenkins, points out there have been no extra staff dedicated to the centres. #News #Channel4News #C4News #UK #Politics #MentalHealth

#MentalHealth is not a privilege. It is fundamental to health and human dignity. In many parts of the world, mental health systems are outdated, underfunded, and misaligned with evidence-based practices and human rights standards. As a result, many people suffer due to inadequate care, exclusion, and a lack of access to the support they need. This new World Health Organization (WHO) guidance helps countries to design and implement equitable, effective, and enduring mental health services:
