Matt Damon participated in Howard Zinn's great "The People Speak" series, and read out a great speech by Zinn about the importance of civil disobedience, which is as apt today as when he first wrote it in 1970: "I start from the supposition that the world is topsy-turvy, that things are all wrong, that the wrong people are in jail, and the wrong people are out of jail. That the wrong people are in power, and the wrong people are out of power. I start from the supposition that all we have to do is think about the state of the world today, and realize that things are all upside down. If you don't think, if you listen to TV, read scholarly things, you actually begin to think that things are not so bad. Or that just little things are wrong. But you have to get a little detached, and then come back and look at the world, and you are horrified. So we have to start from that supposition—that things are really topsy-turvy. And our topic is topsy-turvy: civil disobedience. As soon as you say the topic is civil disobedience, you are saying our problem is civil disobedience. That is not our problem…. Our problem is civil obedience. Our problem is the numbers of people all over the world who have obeyed the dictates of the leaders of their government and have gone to war, and millions have been killed because of this obedience. And our problem is that scene in All Quiet on the Western Front where the schoolboys march off dutifully in a line to war. Our problem is that people are obedient all over the world, in the face of poverty and starvation and stupidity, and war and cruelty. Our problem is that people are obedient while the jails are full of petty thieves, and all the while the grand thieves are running the country. That’s our problem."

It has been an incredibly valuable day for the spaceflight industry here in the United States - brand new vehicles flown and copious amounts of data gathered all around for the teams at Blue Origin and SpaceX. The day began here on the Space Coast of Florida where New Glenn took flight for the first time from LC-36. One thing you will find is the best breakouts pretty much all the great breakouts happen from where when the price is at the 10 or the 20 moving average. The Grace of White Privilege So don’t waste your whiteness. If you were born into this world with this particular privilege, then it is your solemn obligation to be a good steward of that privilege. This, mind you, is privilege in God’s world, not privilege in that pretendy world of the envious, where carping and clawing are the rule, and where every privilege is assumed to be obtained at the expense of somebody else. If it is actual privilege, then a Christian has the responsibility to steward it with a grateful spirit of noblesse oblige. And of course noblesse oblige that is patronizing or supercilious isn’t noblesse oblige at all. However, if it is the faux-sin of whiteness that the guilt-mongers are hurling at you, then you have the responsibility to just laugh at them and go on your way. And a black man with privileges that I don’t have, but who has the same spirit of gratitude, should do exactly the same thing. We serve the same kind God, and we are not chafed by anything that God decided to give to somebody else. If God has given you something, then you must not accuse Him of being a hard master, and then go off and bury it in a handkerchief (Luke 19:10). Although, actually, if we want to keep this parable current with the times, that worthless servant would have to go off to some designated safety zone at his college, wrap his whiteness in a handkerchief, give it to the trained counselor, and spend a soothing hour coloring pictures of the therapy puppies. But the reason the master judges him out of his own mouth in this retold parable is because he didn’t put his whiteness in the handkerchief at all. That entire hour was suffused in whiteness, from the ceiling to the floor, from the front door to the back door, and included the therapist, the coloring books, all the woke business, the hurt feelings, the appropriation of victimhood, the lot. He couldn’t have spent a whiter hour than if he had gone off to the Benjamin Moore factory to dive head first into a vat of White Diamond OC-61.

I recently visited the remote town of Stehekin to see flood damage firsthand and hear from impacted residents at a community meeting. The only way to get to Stehekin is via boat, plane, or on foot. My son Jack and I decided to hike in on the Chelan Lakeshore Trail. Here are some highlights from our 18-mile backpacking trip. Some things you should know if you're interested in doing the hike: The trail starts at Prince Creek, which is only accessible by boat. You can take a ferry from Chelan or Field’s Point Landing. Despite the trail name, you’re not down by the lake the whole hike and there is a lot of climbing and descending. Be prepared for a net elevation gain of about 4,000 feet. Be prepared for heat — the trail gets a lot of sun exposure. Make sure you bring plenty of water, sunscreen and cool layers to help keep you from overheating. There are sections that are quite brushy. Enjoy your time out there and make sure you give yourself time to explore Stehekin before taking the ferry back to Chelan. The bakery is incredible.

Everybody is asking me how to get #GaussianSplatting in #VR. This is my answer 👇 You might not like it, but the truth is that right now Unity is not ready and it doesn't matter how hard you try as soon as you go above 400K, the framerate on standalone headsets is terrible. You should instead look at the amazing work that teams at World Labs and PlayCanvas are doing. They are pushing innovation and are building stunning tech demos where features like the LOD turns into gameplay mechanic. Using your hands as a sort of torch to define the LOD is genius! This is the best moment to experiment and show innovation. For a second, take a step back from your training and simulations, train an AI on how to build on Playcanvas or Spark and break things.

Mockler: I'm glad the system is working against the person who's actively trying to destroy it. I mean, the beautiful part of America is that we have institutions and checks and balances that are separate from the president, and you can see time and time again, Donald Trump is trying to bully other institutions. So we can look at Jerome Powell, the federal reserve. If you look at countries where the president is able to control monetary policy, these are some of the worst countries in the world, right. You do not want the president's controlling monetary policy. This has happened in countries like Venezuela. Let's take this over to the doj. You do not want the president directing the doj to prosecute people, to indict people. And that is exactly what we saw. We just watched a clip of Pam Bondi saying there will never be an enemies list at the doj. Well, Abby, just read off an enemies list that Donald Trump quite literally sent out. Has any Democrat? Did Joe Biden do that? Is there any example of Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, or any of them having an enemies list?
