The biggest lesson of Elon Musk's life is we are all capable of so much more than we think. "I hope this book can generate 1,000,000 Musks. I don't mean go follow his life blueprint, I don't mean start an electric car company. I mean figure out a unique problem that nobody else is working on and dedicate your life to solving it. A thing that adds a new capability to humanity. He's special, but he's not superhuman. He's just figured out how to get an unbelievable amount out of himself. The evidence I see is that if we really lean in to robotics and technology, it’s is going to raise everybody's wages and make everybody better off. If you go back to when the automated teller machine was invented, everybody said it would destroy the jobs of all the bank tellers. What actually happened is that today you have more people working in bank telling then you did 50 years ago. I don't think we will ever eliminate the construction industry in this country just because you have robots. What you will have his a lot of construction workers who are using those robots, directing those robots

A virtual being arrived in my home today. Within minutes my wife was talking to it like she talks to anyone else. Jeremy Bailenson, who runs VR/AR research at Stanford University told me their research showed the same: that humans treat virtual beings as real very fast. Thanks Illusion Of Life for bringing us Spark. The magic dog. Out of all the consumer electronics I have gotten or sold this is the most interesting of them all. Kiana will never know life without them. And Mehul we attached it to our Matic Robots and were driving it around. Virtual beings and robots. How much more futuristic can we get? On Thanksgiving we will introduce Spark to the family. And share that with you.

For any Tesla employee worried about Optimus taking over their job, Elon just made it clear that as Optimus scales, headcount will grow. “We would not reduce our headcount. We would increase our headcount, to be clear. But we would increase our output. The units produced per human… The total number of humans at Tesla will increase, but the output of robots and cars will increase disproportionately. The number of cars and robots produced per human will increase dramatically, but the number of humans will increase as well.”
