A major factor that trainers need to emphasize is pounding the basketball when you dribble If you watch the best guards, they are trying to “Break the Floor”with every dribble This is especially important for taller guards (Via NBA Trainer Coach P 🎥)

@Pnewt0n I am glad they made this post. I was literally talking to ( mostly) my female clients about this point. Dribble the ball with more force! The harder it hits the floor, the faster it comes up. Soft dribbling leads to turnovers and less ability to move the ball around on a string!

@Pnewt0n Telling players to do this without also telling them the proper reason why this is important is both ineffective and irresponsible. e.g. Do you know why dribbling this way is important? (Hint: It is not because 'BEST guards do it.' Difference between Effect & Cause.)

@Pnewt0n Facts. Tall high school guards need to hear this it’d save them like 3 turnovers a game. That and eliminating jump passes will translate into efficiency to where your coach can’t take you off the floor

@Pnewt0n Location is everything. 👍 Execute that power dribble in the midpost area against fellow guards. Polish your footwork fundamentals for scoring from the midpost.
