I watched this beautiful red-shoulder hawk do this 3 times before flying away. It would sit about 4 meters off the ground in a pine tree, dive down into the grass, and start plowing through the soil with its talons, unearthing mole crickets and then swallowing them whole. The entire process still has me scratching my head. The mole crickets are underground. How in the world is this bird finding them? By sound? If so, that’s some super hearing. If not sound, what? Is there just something this incredible bird sees that we as humans don’t? UV or some other form of energy that our eyes and brains can’t process? Whatever it was, the hawk was sure to give me a nice head on “Did you get that?” Confirmation stare.

With the sun just barely peeking through a thin veil of clouds, the world’s largest pelican makes its grand entrance set against a soft pastel background of gold and peach. With the wind still sleeping, the surface of the water is as smooth as glass. The majestic bird dangles its toes in before making a perfect landing. It’s almost like the bird was testing the water temperature before deciding to make the plunge. 😊

It was repackaged and reshaped through a loophole in the same law that claims to abolish it. What you see in places like the so-called Angola prison makes that contradiction clear. The same country that speaks about global freedom and claims to police human rights abuses is still profiting from forced labor within its own system, backed and protected by its own laws. That is the reality. For Africans and people across the Global South, this is something to pay attention to. It shows that the image America presents to the world is not the full story, and it raises serious questions about how seriously its claims on human rights should be taken.

She gently picked up the octopus, carried it to deeper water, and released it back into the sea to save its life. Once the octopus was back in its familiar environment, instead of swimming away immediately, it turned back toward the girl’s feet. It slowly extended one of its tentacles, gently touching her leg or almost “hugging” her in a slow, deliberate motion as if saying thank you for saving it. I once watched a pair of Sandhill Cranes stand side by side, wings spread wide, wingtip to wingtip, as they pushed a massive alligator back into the water. Together, they looked like one giant two headed monster bird from some ancient myth. The alligator had gotten too close to their chick, and they did what any parent would do. Such a powerful bird, but they can also be incredibly delicate and this video is a perfect example. This adult probes the ground with its beak and finds a tasty treasure hidden in the soil. A grub dusted with sand—the bird’s version of a salted peanut. Okay, maybe not quite the same thing, but you get the idea. Watching this massive bird so delicately toss the grub to shake off the dirt is mesmerizing. Look closely, and you can see the bird using its tongue to position the grub in its beak. All that prep for a tiny meal, quickly devoured by one of its two chicks.

Its legs bent upward, then extended, pushing it out of the case. It rolled, braced with its arms, lifted its torso, and stood up to full height right next to the open box it arrived in. Chinese subtitles ran the entire time as the robot calmly narrated its own startup: warning that it was about to move, asking not to be touched, confirming its position, then requesting that the packaging be cleared so it could start work. This is AGIBOT. The company that shipped more than 5,168 humanoid robots in 2025 — more than any competitor globally — and hit its 15,000th unit produced by mid-2026. Not a staged reveal. Not a product launch. Just a robot that ships itself in a box and gets up on its own. The unboxing used to be the boring part. Now it’s the demo.
